I’m not sure where this guy is hunting, but you do realize they have a ton of free range Axis in Texas?

It was a joke.....it's a nice deer.

He's in another county now. Might as well go home and get some work done

I’ll be in the blind bright and early in the am. Ended up seeing 3 hogs, 1 coon, 3 whitetail doe and 2 Sika doe.

Had damn axis at several of the feeders this afternoon.

I think they can breed year around.

The taxidermist I used who also guides them told me this. Said they can breed all year long and is why they can populate so quickly.

I hunted a high fence place last year and they had axis who has just dropped antlers, some growing, some full velvet and some out of velvet.

It’s a cool 54 degrees in Junction this am with no wind. Got settled into the blind about 6:15. I’ve got two whitetail doe at the freeder and my target axis buck showed back up around 1:15 this am so he’s still around.

For those of us who may be ignorant on axis antlers, what does this correlate to in the whitetail world? Is this like killing a 140" whitetail or a 180"? Either way I'm happy you skipped work.
