Sorry to hear about your dad. I followed many of his posts on this site, complete with pictures of his progress.

He was truly a craftsman in the highest order and did excellent work.

You wrote a beautiful post honoring your dad and it's obvious to me he meant a great deal to you and how you grew up to become the woman you are today.

Deepest condolences to you and your family.

RIP fishfighter

I read this post an hour ago sitting in a deer stand. It has taken me this long to stop the tears with many thoughts.

The amazing generosity Paul displayed building the pirogue for the EJW benefit was truly incredible while he was dealing with his own health issues. EJW was touched in a very special way with this show of kindness in his last days on earth. This act of kindness showed the character your father had.

Paul and I communicated many times over the last seven years, especially after your brother passed away. I know he lived an amazing life all the way to the end. It is my hope that you, your mother, and the rest of your family can take joy in the legacy he left behind.

A man is only as good as what he leaves behind. Seeing your post shows what he instilled in you during his time on earth.

We lost a bedrock of what the OB is and a man than not only had a huge part in shaping the culture of this board...... but also many of us...

I guess and Josey Wales are hanging out along with your brother.

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading your dad’s posts over the years. He was truly a positive person, and I remember him giving a lot of encouragement to people when they were posting about tough times, despite his own personal hardships. I’m truly sorry for your loss; it’s obvious that he was a great man. God bless your family.

So sorry for your loss! I never met your dad or had any direct conversations with him, but there was always wisdom and knowledge to be found in his posts. If I remember correctly, he shared a build of a dining room table that I think was for you. I enjoyed seeing that build come together as I have started building furniture myself and found it very helpful.
