I bought a new (to me) boat and it was registered in AL. Peeled the numbers off and there is a sticky area left. Any ideas what you use to get this off so I can put new numbers on? Tried boat soap and it didn't help. Trying not to hurt the clear coat...tia

Turtle Wax Label and Sticker Remover worked like a champ for my new to me boat. Just spray it on and wipe it off. You can buy it at AutoZone.

3M adhesive remover. You can get it at industrial paint supply places.

Just had the exact same problem as you describe (from a boat registered in AL weirdly enough) and WD-40 worked like a champ. That stuff actually has all kinds of uses.

IF you would have heated said stickers with a hair dryer/ heat gun they would have peeled off clean

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Going to give the alcohol a shot tonight because I already have some and see how it goes. Thanks again

A 2012 Ranger Z118 with 150 Optimax. Had 99 hours and a year left on warranty. Pretty pumped up about it.
