Thx for all the replies. Looks like for glass a meoptra or vortex would be recommended. Others likely out of my price

Yeah those seen to be the choice for a decent price range. How much are you willing to spend on a scope.

I've never been able to pay more than $400 for a scope although I know I should

I know it's cool to not have one, but Leupold is a good choice with a wide product range.

On my last two rifles I put a Zeiss Vonquedt on the 6.8spc and a Meopta Meopro on a .308 Ar-10

The Meopta has the better glass.

There is a newer Nightforce out that is about the same price as the Meopta. I will be getting a 6.5 Creedmoor at some point in the near future and it will have the Nightforce.

Another huge advantage of the Tikka, you can adjust the trigger pull with an allen wrench down to 2 pounds

Savage Accutrigger adjustable at home down to 1.5 lbs.

Don't know why I keep getting yall (Kengel/Carson) mixed up. And you don't owe me a thing. As a matter of fact you need to come back and actually kill one. I have access to several places now with 300 to 700 yrd range shots on hogs.

I have an xbolt .280 but like the savage accutrigger on my 7mm-08 better

Lots of good rifles at reasonable prices these days,

Remington, Ruger, Howa , CZ are all good

The last 2 scopes I have bought were Meopta and Vortex. While the Vortex is a good scope, the Meopta is head and shoulders above anything at that price range. The clarity and low light performance are really insane. I had never heard of Meopta 2 years ago, but it may be the last scope that I ever buy

Before Zeiss discontinuing the original conquest Meopta was a little known name on the US consumer front. A huge part of Meopta USAs business (really cz Meopta as well) was in OEM manufacturing (still is and for some pretty big names).

Their 1.4 million sq ft facility in CZ as well as their NY facility are impressive. You would be surprised how much of their glass you use in everyday life and don't realize it.

We're working with them on a project that we think you guys will enjoy. They (Meopta USA) take consumer demand very seriously and try to cater to shooters as much as possible.

It's the only company I know that you can call and the president still picks up the phone to talk to customers.

*edit* Tikka or die!

I have shot this and the Blaser R8 multiple times. Blaser is better.
