The time has come. What products have y’all used that are similar to real dip? I’ve heard of Black Buffalo and some others. Not real big on flavors. Just want a straight/natural flavor.

No advice, but good luck.

When my ex-wife quit smoking it was rough for both of us. (Moody).

Just quit - cold turkey.

There will be times when you'll be tempted to backslide, But if you're really gonna quit, then quit.

I "quit" 7 or 8 times. When I finally quit (cold turkey), I quit. That was over 30 years ago.

I've never tried any of the tobacco-free dips but if you're gonna go that route I think you're gonna struggle not going and getting a regular can the first time you run out of the other stuff. It may be better for your health (I honestly don't know) but it's just subbing out the source of nicotine while allowing the actual act of dipping to continue.

The nicorette lozenges work pretty well, they're expensive but they let you learn how to do stuff without associating it with dipping or smoking, and keep you from hating everything and everyone around you. For me it's been just as hard to change my habits as it is dealing with the nicotine cravings.

Good luck. I’m envious of anyone that’s able to do it. I’d like to quit but I know I don’t “want” to quit bad enough to stick with it.

Dipped for a good 12 years. Quit March 2013 cold turkey. I know of I took one dip or bought one can I'd be back 100% so I just don't.

If you're genuinely committed to quitting, the patches work just well enough to take the edge off. It's rough but manageable.

I was a professional smoker and i'm 7 years quit.

There are no products that ever gave me the satisfaction as a good fresh dip of Copenhagen. I’ve quit multiple times over the past 20 years. Once for 5 years. I’m on 4 months without one right now. It sucks.

I’m gonna tell you something that you something that you aren’t gonna want to hear.

You’re best chance to quit is cold turkey. You have to have the will power to do it.
If you aren’t serious about it then you won’t do it.

So, man the hell up and quit. Put a can right there on your desk or where ever you are most like to reach for it.
It will be hard as hell but it’s the best way to quit and stay quit.

All that other self help quitting stuff will still remind you of something you liked about it and you will be more likely to fall back to doing it again.

A lot of people have had success with hypnosis, when everything else failed to work. Good luck. You can do it.

What I did, 6/12/78, never looked back.
Cigs were cheap and there wasn't a stigma, but it
sure felt good in a few months. Do it, but be ready
to hate smoke/smokers.
Good luck.

I chewed levi garret chewing tobacco since I was 13. at least a pack a day for 30+ years. thought about quitting several times. one day I quit cold turkey several years ago and never took another chew.

if your half-azz quiting, it will never work. same goes for quiting drinkin or smoking. either quit or don't, but don't be a pussy about it. lol

Go get a life insurance policy and get caught lying to your wife about quitting when they do the swab test for nicotine to set your rates....pretty motivating.

I used a couple packs of gum to quit. Good luck. Quitting smoking was easy, but even reading this I kinda want a dip

The best, purest high you will ever feel is when you are finally free of the addiction. Not the habit, which takes a few weeks nut the addiction to nicotine. You will discover how good the human body can feel.

Yep.

I quit 5 years ago. Took the can out of my pocket and threw it in the garbage and never bought another one. Still get the urge pretty often but I'm glad I quit

I agree with most of what already had been said. Cold turkey is where it’s at. If you “treat” yourself here and there it doesn’t help. Get suckers, gum and sunflower seeds. To me, doing that helps take your brain off having a dip in. Myself, I haven’t fully quit, but I have quit multiple times for up to 6mths or so at times. Get to drinking with some podnuh’s and the half buzzed hey man let me have dip becomes you’re in your vehicle at 7:30 the next morning buying a can. Don’t give in... As said, the only way you’ll quit is if YOU want to. Good luck with it, I’m about to give it another shot myself.

True, felt great and had more energy when I quit smoking. Before I started smoking I dipped but dipping didn’t drain the energy from my body like smoking did. Not sure why that was the case.
