I pray for you and your family in this time. I give thanks for your Grandfather and his service to our country. I know he had an impact on you. I assume USMC? If not done already, you should submit a WW2 registry of remembrance in his name. A true American!

I'm envious of people who get to spend time with veteran grandparents. My grandfather was in the European theater and died when I was very young. I wish I could sit with him today and have a chat about the good ol' days.

Amen dude. Discipline and responsibility are out the window nowadays.

I take a little umbrage at this. I've served on 3 continents with our uniformed men and women. Our volunteer force, as a whole, has high standards similar to those of the WWII generation. I feel obligated to vouch for my soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coasties.

If you want to bash the general civilian population, particularly the youngsters from ~18 to ~25 - yeah, I wouldn't give you $0.02 for the lot of them.

(ETA, and Bap, prayers sent. The old codger had a good run, though.)
