Know anyone from Bay Minette? My sister-in-law is from there. Only reason we talk to her is she saw the light and came to LSU.

To the OP:

26, EBR born and raised, now live in NWLA
Started fishing before I can remember
Started hunting when I could shoot a BB gun, first dove hunt at 6.
Learned from my dad initially, then from my 4 older brothers. I would like to think by now they have learned a thing or two from me.

21.

Born in Knoxville, TN.

LSU student living in BR.

Family lives in Houston.

Been fishing my entire life: fresh or salt. fly, spinning, or trot line.

First year hunting with any seriousness. just bird so far, deer & bigger game will come in due time, i suppose.

Been shooting hand guns & shotguns since early-mid high school years.

My dad hasn't been a huge fan of guns, and I only went shooting or hunting on our farm in middle tennessee when I was in town over summers or for the holidays with my two grandfathers.

I guess when I inherited a bunch of guns two years ago is when I really started thinkin about gettin serious with it all, but didn't really have the means to do so. this year more of my friends were more willing to make an effort to include me, and our group of guys has really been more open. We've taken some younger guys out and really showed them a thing or two about shooting and gun safety when they had rarely or even never shot a gun. It's been a lot of fun.

lived in Wisconsin for seven years too, man i miss the spring/summer fishin' up there. lot of fun.

But Texas is where I am now, and I couldn't be happier. I truly do enjoy being in BR though for school, just don't see myself not being in Houston after I graduate.

Born - NOLA
Raised - Mandeville
Since '05 - Baton Rouge

Italian/Austrian descent

First Hunt - 10 years old with my dad. Killed 1 um..er commorant, yeah that's the right term for it! 20 gauge crack barrel. I got kicked off my bucket

First Deer - 13 ish years old with my dad in Petal, MS .270 at dusk. Spike

First trophy buck - 15-16 2003 with a buddy in Madisonville, LA 12 point scored 135 ish

Duck/Deer hunted my entire childhood until LSU, when I had to pretty much give it up due to athletic obligations.

I hunted mostly with my cousins and friends. We hunted by ourselves pretty much 90% of the time from the age of 13 on. When there was an adult around it was usually my uncle. We hunted everything from deer/ducks/suirrels/doves/rabbits/raccoons/alligators/frogs/snakes/nutria/bass/turtles pretty much anything we could kill

I never made a hunt with my powpow and never will now , he gave it up years ago. I rarely made a hunt with my pow as he enjoyed working much more than anything else. Although I did hear stories about my powpow and his NOLA cop brother taking my pow as a tyke down Chef Menteur Hwy to kill rabbits with a .22 out the window of their station wagon at night.

I fished my entire life specks/reds/flounder. In high school I got real big into offshore fishing (bluewater mostly). Which I enjoy the most. My favorite activity was always deer hunting, and marlin fishing is a lot more like hunting a big whitetail than loading an ice chest with specks. Another uncle got a 60' Hatteras that I'd spend May-July on in Venice/Grand Isle/Port Aransas every year. Had to pretty much give that up for LSU as well.

I have just got back hard into it after grad school. I am now a bow hunting/silent assassin killing machine and duck searcher, since I am pretty bad at finding the basterds

Born in South Arkansas, but grew up in NWLA.
Passion has always been duck hunting. My dad started taking me when I was 4-5 sleeping in the bottom of the boat waking up to gun shots, hot chocolate, and a frozen poptart.

Started deer hunting when I was eleven, but it never kept my interest very long.

I started to take two of my nephews hunting last year. Watched the youngest kill his first wood duck this year. Hopefully the eldest will get his this Saturday. I also watched my best friend kill his first this year (with my gun... he left his in the truck ) And took my son on his first hunt last Saturday. All in all, it has been a good year and can't wait until next year

Born and raised in Beauregard Parish

Been fishing since I could hold a fishing pole. Fished Toledo bend and Bundicks Lake growing up until we got a bay boat about 9 years ago. Been all salt water (big lake) ever since.

Grew up hunting deer and squirrel's, but didn't really get interested until I quit playing sports after high school. Didn't have much time for hunting season since tournament season for basketball is at the same time. Got hooked on duck hunting a few years ago thanks to yeti and Louisianachessie, now I can't get enough of it.

Born and raised in NWLA by an Arkansas transplant dad (military) and mom from Shreveport.

Started hunting and fishing when I was shitting my pants. Dad was always a big deer hunter but the rest of my family lives near Stuttgart, AR and have always been pure-bred duck hunters.

Deer hunted with my dad growing up but never cared too much for it. I go on a rare occasion these days. I will take a group of ducks dropping in, over a trophy deer any day.

Spent most of my winters growing up at our farm in Arkansas duck hunting. My pow pow is 86 and still kicks around out there with me.

Fast forward to high school and I didnt really give a shite about anything other than getting Randy Travis'ed every night so I didnt do too much hunting or fishing those years. Put the bottle down in 2008 and had to get addicted to something else, so I chose duck hunting and bass fishing.

I actually just recently started getting serious about bass fishing last year when I got my kayak, best thing I have ever done.

split my time growing up in rice field country and Nola...

pow pow that hunted died when I was 12 - was own my own hunting after that....

other pow pows and uncles fished.. and taught me an awful lot...

great grandpow pow was a market hunter in his younger days.... passed a lot of devastating duck hunting info....

been in BR for over a decade now..

lived briefly in jax and va beach.....wasn't there much

grew up walking dry fields for quail and hunting everything else.. in HS and college the quail started disappearing.. and like some long lost friends miss them dearly....
