Went to a buddy’s crawfish farm near ville platte. We limited, saw way more birds today than we did yesterday. And yes they started piling in about 15 mins before legal. He’s got a lot of woodies and a few spoons and mottled on his place as well. Didn’t see any squealers today, they were there yesterday.
We aren’t going to discuss the misses, his gun was jamming and they were coming in on my weak side. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I couldn’t go, but they limited early at my buddy’s lease NE of Port Barre. He said they had tons of birds.

We should have stayed at camp and hunted this morning instead of heading back to BR to watch that shitty game. Oh well, we’ll be back after them Friday.

Lake on the south end of Rapides Parish.
4 Saturday with some absolutely crappy shooting. Guess we can blame it on opening day jitters. Mostly bunches of 4 - 8 birds.
12 this morning with better shooting and more birds.
All bluewings both days and only saw a few woodies.

No mention of pintails but they could have seen em? They were mostly shocked at the number of grays flying around their blinds.

Hunted Venice Saturday and Sunday. Limited both days. We had some birds on our lease but it wasn't like years past.
Saw a lot of mottled ducks but no pintail or gadwall.
If we don't get new birds, going to be tough next weekend.

Picked our way to a 2-man on Saturday, big drop off for Day 2 and ended with 4.
Note 90% of the time people report "early grays" in September end up being family groups of mottled ducks.
I want to believe it, though! Big moon upcoming this week should move in more teal.

Kemo Jr saw a yuge drop off Sunday (12) with six guns and hunted past 8:00 am. I don’t think they were done by 8:00 today so maybe slower today. Think he is hunting the Klondike blinds until Wednesday and moving to pine island blinds.

Seen more than expected. Missed enough to fill a two man limit. Knocked down a few. Houma area.
