He is small so completely at the mercy of when he can get tranny shipped to him. Also a 1 man show. It was a second truck for my business so it wasn’t urgent. Guess that may not work for everyone, lol. Good luck, but yea, vehicle problems suck!

GH I've been waiting on two 6 speed transmissions from GM for 3 weeks, they're a hard get right now.
Supply is just a cluster fk across the board for just about any parts right now.
Goodluck hope it works out in your favor.

A rental is going to cost me as much as the repair.

Trucks end up in lakes all the time when launching boats and have to get totaled baw. Those guys probably get a new one in less than 3 weeks.

it's the torque converter. you can have them change it.

These responses are really making me glad I went with a Tundra last year.

Wish I still had a 2nd vehicle I'd loan it to you.
It might just be the clutch solenoid or something like that. I wouldn't right it off as needing a new torque converter just yet. You an drop the transmission pan yourself and see if there's any evidence in there like metal, sludge clutch material etc.
If you dig around and want to do it bad enough, you can probably find a 6L60E troubleshooting guide online and get after it.
I did a 4L80e rebuild myself once. Didnt last very long. Don't get too deep into that thing without the right stuff. Dropping the pan is no biggie, even taking the trans out and putting a new one in isn't too bad. Just don't take the guts out of the trans

Greenhead,
I just noticed your signature.
It was painted by a guy named Chig Biggers.
I knew him pretty well. He was pretty good friends with my dad.

I feel like an old man saying this but they really are making them worse. I haven’t had hardly any problems w my 2011 with 200k

Appreciate, and yea I don't think I'll be doing any work on myself since I am currently in Houston for work. Going to drop it off today at a transmission place for a diagnostic. I am hating to do it but can't afford to get stranded halfway home, especially with the whole interstate being torn up from Houston to Laff with construction.

Just dropped a trans on 2015 Sierra 6 speed at 153k miles two weeks ago. Similar symptoms as yours.

Back when college sports made since and regional rivalries had meaning.

“Only” $3000 and change and a 3 year warranty from my guy, so not too painful.
At 85,000?
How soon would it have had to happen to be considered "too painful"?

My dad's 2018 GMC was having similar issues...I think there is a service bulletin of some kind concerning a trans flush and fill...specific number of times and certain fluids.
TSB about Trans
I think that's it.
Some say a temporary fix but it's currently working on his truck.

$800 in, pump is out, they are dropping the transmission for complete inspection. Had metal when they dropped they dropped pan.
How the hell does the pump going out no throw any codes.

TCC shudder.
Get tranny checked and it is likely as simple as a fluid change.

just got off the phone with GMC service on my truck.
bolt broken off at exhaust manifold, exhaust leak (which I already knew about) and water pump housing broken.
Dude is perplexed why there are no fault codes showing. Engine sounds like it has asthma. It will be a 2000 dollar repair by the time they are done with mine
I’m going to hope it runs good when they are done and start looking to get rid of it. 120K miles though on a 2019
