Bottom line is the guy killed a heck of a deer legally! I am sure most on here use 85% let off bows, releases, sights, rangefinder, elevated stands, trail cameras, expandable broad heads, throw away knife blades etc……instead of jealousy there should be congratulations!

What’s crazy to me are the differences in the antlers each year. If that deer didn’t have the short tail to identify it by I would have a hard time believing it was the same deer from 2017/18 to 2020. Looks like a much smaller rack in 2019 also

I looked on LDWF website and they have a separate category for crossbow now in the trophy section.

Great Deer especially for Louisiana

Why do they have the crossbow cocked and pointed right at the one guy's neck.

I assume it has no bolt in it but it's still bad practice, just like an "unloaded" gun

I had a very similar post drafted and deleted. No doubt it's coming.

I don't think it's cocked it's just one of those fancy new style narrow limb crossbows. The string isn't pulled back in the pictures.

I spy a federal judge in that pic. I wonder what the connection is?

Step dad. Johnny, their dad, died of cancer 8-10 years ago and their mom married Terry a couple years back. Those are good folks right there. All those Morris boys are excellent hunters and put a lot of time and effort in it. And they have been managing that place for monster whitetail since before doing such a thing was a thing. They have been dragging hammers out of there for decades..

they shouldn't, unless you are handicapped. Then there should be a separate category

The 2 on the right.
Is that a couple of those "they/them" people that I've been hearing about?

They are due their private land kudos.

But the guy he bumped out of top spot, he worked harder. No cell cams, changing into hip boots 4am, walking 1.5 miles in dark, reading rubs & scrapes to position stand.
Hoping chukee don't come with that tugboat lite on his head

Primitive weapon like a COMPOUND bow, with release aid, fiber optic sights, lumenated nocks, range finder, etc. ?

Love how compound bow hunters are so critical of others, yet believe they are on a higher road. Trade in that compound for a longbow, wooden arrows, finger tab, and no sights and let's see how great an archer you really are.
