City guy owned the property when I bought my bigger piece and his 10 acres corners into my property. In the corner he has put a nice ground blind and along the old fence he put a feeder. Clearly he wants to shoot onto my property too.

He called me to tell me the previous owner used to let him on the property to retrieve wounded deer. I told him not to hunt on my property.

No question in mind there will be a "wounded deer" he will have to retrieve sometime this year. I suspect I will tell him I appreciate him going to get the deer and to bring it on up to my farm house so I can process it.

What would you do? I may put a blind next to his deer feeder and let a couple of local bubbas hunt in it.

I don't hunt deer much any more. I do have one very nice buck I am seeing regularly I may take.

You tell him if a deer is on your property either while or after he shoots it, it’s your deer.

Let him know he is nit to shoot into your property and that if he does police will be called.

As long as he's hunting on his property and not trespassing what do you care? If he wings one and it runs onto your property you should be a good neighbor and let him go find it and maybe even help him.

This. I'm not sure why the OP wants to start shite with his neighbor especially considering he said he doesn't even deer hunt much anymore. Seems like added unnecessary stress

Ohh I suspect whatever he kills will "run" onto my property.

I care because I don't want some yat shooting high powered rifles into my property without me knowing he is there.

Pretty simple answer. You tell him you saw the blind and feeder on the property line and you wanted to let him know that you do not give him permission to shoot any deer on your property.

I agree with this sentiment. It may be your land, but it's not your deer.

I would suggest he move his feeder away from the property line and direct his line of sight away from your land to keep him honest. Set up game cameras to further that point.

Agree

If you feel he is going to shoot deer on your property, I would put a couple cams to watch it.

He's only got 10 acres so pretty much anywhere he hunts will be on a property line. Just let the man hunt, not everyone can afford 150 acres.

This is exactly what you should do. If he shoots a deer on his land and it goes over that is fine but if he is shooting a deer on your land that is a different story.
