quote:You mean the Nissan Titan XD. I just bought one. It falls somewhere between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton. My Titan XD with the 5.0 Cummins is getting better fuel mileage than my buddy's Tundra. They are running some nice year-end deals right now and awesome warranties to go with it.
Bought a Nissan Tundra at Giles Nissan pin Lafayette , 4x4 King Cab with Cummins Diesel for $39,500 and the dealership gives a lifetime power train warranty

I just bought a ram and really like it. Got 15k off. Out out f150, Chevy, and Ram, I liked the ram the best. Had the best ride, best seats, and most features for the price. Hopefully it holds up.

Currently in the market. I'm in an 09 (purchased in mid 08) Ram 1500 crew cab now that I have 135k on. It's been a solid truck.

I am pretty impressed with it so far. Everything seems well thought out. Hemi has alot of power and is very responsive on the highway.

quote:I owned Chevrolet’s all my life, had an F150 with the 5.0 and a Tundra. My last Silverado was a 09 Z71 4wd and it was a huge peice of shite. I work on my own vehicles and I can tell you that there were a ton of parts on that Silverado that should have been on a Colorado. I did extensive research any the during the bailout years GM used many parts that were not rated for a half ton vehicle. Also they had a lifter tick that you had to get a delete kit for if you had the Active fuel management shite. GM’s are not built to last. Out of principle i will never buy another GM.

I had 110k miles on that Silverado before i got rid of it and during its life the major repairs I had to:
- Rebuild the transmission
- Replace the brake booster and master cylinder
- Replace the cheap plastic console that cracked in Louisiana heat
- Rebuild the front end
- Repaint the hood as it started to corrode
- Countless other small repairs that weren’t normal wear and tear
If i wasn’t mechaincally inclined that truck could have cost me 10k in repairs.
My F150 wasn’t bad, but the tranny started to slip at 80k miles, which i was disappointed about. It was a good commuter vehicle but it pulled like shite. I would go with the F150 if your looking for mileage and don’t often pull or haul anything.
I have Louisana edition TRD 4wd Tundra now and I will never have another truck. The gas mileage is trash but it beats the Silverado and F150 in every other way. You can tell it’s made by the same company that makes Lexus. The ride is great, has tons of space, pulls like a champ, all the parts are properly rated for its size and it’s a maintenance dream. I was constantly fixing something on my Chevrolet and i haven’t had to do a damn thing to the tundra.
I’m not easy on my tundra. I had a small 17’ bass boat i used to pull with the Silverado and F150, the Silverado towed better but i noticed it on both. Now i pull a 20’ Bay boat with my tundra and I swear I have forgotten I was pulling a boat. My buddy and I bought a t190 bobcat together and my tundra pulls it better than his F250. It stops it better too.
I can tell you that there is no doubt in my mind that the Tundra is far and away the most durable and dependable of the 3 and it’s not even close. Again- the mileage is trash but i didn’t buy it for mileage. I have the 5.7 and i get 17/18 highway and 12/13 City.
If you want to buy a truck that you don’t have to do shite to and you’ll get 250k miles out of- get a Tundra.

You may not need the diesel but I garantee you truck itself will hold up a lot better. I’ve had mine for two years and over 100k miles without a single problem.
My 1999 F250 powerstroke has spent its life towing/hauling the largest fifth wheel and largest Lance short bed truck camper w slide out. I've replaced a brake line and did a brake job. I think it's time for a new muffler. Even my Michelins are near perfect after 5 years.

FIL has a mint condition 99' F-350 Crew Cab, I told him I want it when he decides to part with it. Hes 72 so its likely his last truck, he only has 140,000 miles on it. His mechanic offered him $20,000 cash the last time he got his oil changed.

I have a 2016 F-150 with EcoBoost and love it.

Wow. Mine isn't mint but it looks much better than most its age. It's a Lariat crew cab 4x4 w 150k miles. The equivalent truck today would be what $60k+?
In 1999, the only difference between the 250 and 350 was the riser on the rear leaf springs (and available dually) on 350. I have after market suspension, air bags, and ranchos so no difference. I recently stored my Lance and am using the 250 as my daily driver, partially to piss off libs in my hood.
