The rig em right/tangle free decoy weight setup. I Actually think all of ours are the mojo brand but this has absolutely changed duck hunting for us. Picking up and moving decoys is so much easier now.

Color gps chart plotter.

Hard to even think about the days of fishing with just a compass and a rig chart.

Yep. That too. I got into a batch of pretty cheaply made ones this year, but aside from that, they've been awesome.

This is my buddy's company, they are the easiest decoy rig/setup I have hunted with by far.

Stock shell sleeve. I keep 5 shells on it as to when chasing crips, I don't have to worry about shells when time is critical. On my second one, the first wore out.

Rangefinder. I remember going out with my dad when I was 5 years old and holding a tape measurer while he walked off shooting lanes, then helping him paint trees different colors and driving stakes in the ground.

They look just like every other Texas rig, maybe I missed something

I think smart devices and trail cams are the most life changing. Sometimes I wish we didn't text all hunt, but it sure adds a component of safety And community.

I really really like fleece clothing, it is amazingly warm for its weight and add in a high performance gore tex like product it can be exceptional. Quiet too.

Things that have improved drastically in 30 years: bows, gloves, arrows and broad head selections, optics

Wife gave me one of those grab-it gloves and belts with the retractable pliers for speck fishing.

I used the hell out of that thing. Both the retractable pliers and the glove. It's simple enough but very handy.

I agree with Oleyeller, modern camo clothing. Such great insulation and warmth from such little clothing. I have some merino (minus33) base layers that I wear under a Cabelas Merino Wool-Tech hoodie and I am warm in nearly anything. That and insulated boots.

Rangefinder. Especially for bowhunting. It's nice to know immediately that the buck is standing at 34 yards instead of having to pick a spot and try to visualize and guess about how far he is. Also comes in handy during the summer time on the golf course

I am old so agree with this Back in the gap when Ambassador first came out with the 5000 C class fishing reels....it revolutionized the Bass Fishing industry at the time. and anti backlash technology. Try to fish with one of those old 60's bait casters some time to know what we dealt with. Wind was over 15 mph and you were done.

Mono line. The old braid was crap.

GPS for offshore, idiot proof,

Modern depth finders same thing.

Hunting:

Tree stands. Saw every few in 60's and you had to built yourself didn't last long and were dangerous as shite.

Climbers, same deal.

Scents, Cover etc.

ATV's.

Food Plots.

With all that said I was better fisherman and outdoorsman before the new shite like everyone else. I used to have to navigate by maps, sight and the stars, and actually track deer in the woods. Want to know why all those 60 year old guys are so good, this is why.

1. The backpack. I used not to carry one and would spend all night before trying to round up things and most the time forget something. Now i just grab my pack and have everything i could need with me at all times.
2. The Fatboy deer stand cushion. This allows me to sit so much longer in the stand with great comfort. My butt or legs dont go to sleep, and i can sit longer periods. I never wanted to spend the money "$50-60" on a cushion but it is WELL worth it.
