mine recently was a gun strap. it seems pretty dumb but it's a huge improvement for me when hunting public land without any sort of boat blind or permanent blind. when you're standing in a bunch of roseau cane there it's pretty tough finding somewhere to put your gun.

GPS depthfinder. Can go to brushpiles in the middle of the lake now without having to triangulate and troll around too much. Maximizes fishing time.

3 things
1. The backpack. I used not to carry one and would spend all night before trying to round up things and most the time forget something. Now i just grab my pack and have everything i could need with me at all times.
2. The Fatboy deer stand cushion. This allows me to sit so much longer in the stand with great comfort. My butt or legs dont go to sleep, and i can sit longer periods. I never wanted to spend the money "$50-60" on a cushion but it is WELL worth it.
3. Quality base gear and outer gear. I had always layered up in thermals, and fleece, and sweats, and coveralls or bibbs and i either would wear too much and sweat down. Or would feel like the marshmellow man and couldnt move because i had so much clothes on. Bought some first lite merino base gear, and under armour ayton jacket and bibs and that is all i wear! Nothing else!! Rather its 25 or 60 degrees im comfortable and dont have on a mountain of clothes. Now its costly, that set was about $600 but well worth it, glad i finally broke down and went that route.

one more thing, is one of those pouch things that straps around your waist like a quaterback wears in football for your hands. My hands always froze in the stand, and if i had thick gloves i couldnt work the trigger or grab things well. This little pouch thing "whatever its called" is 10times warmer than any gloves ive ever worn, and when i need to shoot i use my bare hand. Also you can toss some hot hands in there if you need them "i never have because it is warm enough without them".

Back in the gap when Ambassador first came out with the 5000 C class fishing reels....it revolutionized the Bass Fishing industry at the time. Now days in Hunting Id have to say the inertia driven shotguns and choke systems...In fishing the availability of side scan sonar gps driven depth finders.

i have a waxed shell bag that my dad used in Vietnam. I never got the whole story, but it's pretty nice to empty my shotgun shells in there opposed to pulling from the paper boxes. It hold about 2 boxes, it's waterproof and has a ridiculously strong draw string.

I'm a big fan of my shell belt. I hate looking thru my blind bag to get to my boxes of 3 different types of shells. Easy reload is clutch in the timber too.

And my dog of course. He's my best friend and best tool in the blind.

The 3.5" Heavy turkey loads combined with Super Full chokes have increased the effective range by 50%. Probably doubled my kill ratio. This from starting out with 2.75" shells, modified chokes, and no face masks in the 1980s.
