I have also heard with no documentaive proof that some were relocated to the area by wildlife officials to help control the hog population. I don't know if how true that might be but the person who told me has family connections to LWF and he claimed it was true.

I was told the same by a friend, his ex-wife's new husband worked with (not for) LWF about where they were relocated, somewhere in East Feliciana.

Thank you! Someone speaking logic.

This is the 21st century, people. If no one has produced an HD image or video of a "black panther" by now, it ain't gonna happen.

I saw one in Southern Arkansas in the 90s when I worked up there. It was sun up and I opened some curtains to see one standing across the street at a tree line. Probably 50 feet away. Stared at me for a good 10 or 15 seconds and bolted into the woods when I moved. Fairly close, good light and I looked at it for 10 or 15 seconds. It was absolutely a large, predatory cat of the cougar/mountain lion variety.

In Louisiana, I was squirrel hunting at dusk when I was 14 when I believe one screamed at me. Never heard a sound like that before or since. It was a long, sustained, very loud scream that sounded like a woman being murdered. I'm in my 40's and have lived in or next to the woods most of those years and have spent a lot of time in the woods. Only one time have I heard that sound. I don't think my feet touched the ground until I was home.

Some people hear foxes scream and think they are big cats. Many people don't realize that foxes scream. I've heard foxes scream. It's quick and repetitive screaming though when it's a fox. What I heard that evening was no fox.
