re: Midsize truck recommendations

I bought a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X last year with just 10K miles on it. I absolutely love it. Probably the best truck I've ever bought. I downsized from a Chevy Rough Country. I was tired of paying the gas in that damn thing. I had a Nissan back in the 90's that was a good truck. I'm really amazed with this one.

I have a 2022 Frontier. First Nissan I've ever owned. Have had 0 issues with it. Only thing that takes some getting used to is the steering is kinda "heavy". Put an AllDogsOffroad lift kit on it. It doesn't have the fanciest interior, but it's a solid little truck.

If I were looking at a midsize that I wanted to keep long term and did not need tot wo more than 5K I would get the Honda Ridgeline. The bed in the truck is more than a gimmick. it hold a lot of stuff. The V6 is tried and true.

I almost got a tool box for the Ranger to hold all the crap I used to carry in the Ridgeline's trunk, but I didn't want to eat into a 5' bed. The overall physical packaging is second to none.

I've seen rumors that the next Ridgeline will be some sort of hybrid, which would be unfortunate. If they nail the redesign I'll probably sell the Ford and get another Ridgeline, but I'm not interested in a hybrid.

You could probably get an old Cat Eye Chevy(03-05)for just as cheap or cheaper than most mid sized trucks mentioned. One of the most dependable trucks ever made, and incredibly easy to work on.

I have been driving a 2014 Nissan Frontier. Bought it in 2015 with 11,000 or so miles on it. Last oil change it had 375,000 miles on it. Only brakes, and a sensor that went bad 5 years ago. While they were in the motor Nissan suggested to replace two others while inside. That is the only issue I have had with it. Rule of thumb is 400 miles per tank and averages 17-18 gals each fill up. That is 23-24 miles a gallon.
Wife (no pics) has an 2014 Armada with 255,000 miles on it. We were trying to replace a 2003 Suburban but could not find one at a reasonable price. New or used! Bought the Armada in 2015 also with 14,000 miles on it. Both are great vehicles and no plans to replace either at this time. My youngest daughter (no pics) goes to school out of state and we bought her a 2025 Nissan Kicks for safety and reliability. No issues so far! If we buy a replacement it will be for my wife and I will keep my truck for the farm. Planning on buying a Nissan Rouge or Pathfinder for her!

I’ve read that the new ‘29 will change to being based on the Passport rather than the Pilot and will offer a 4x4 option in addition to the normal AWD.
