Just saw the video…dude straight threw a temper tantrum like a 5 year old. He shot like 6 times at one decoy…all told he couldn’t have done more than $50 in damage. If I’m those kids I’m gonna hang those decoys on the wall at my apartment..great conversation piece.

So I am not an experienced public land hunter, what led up to this ?
Brendan builds a blind on public land , that he guides out of, someone else shows up earlier than him and hunts it, he gets pissed and comes back and does this?

Yeah, I just saw the video too, still deserves an arse whipping and economic sanctions that are coming his way, but from the clip I saw he did not do anything to warrant getting shot, but my safety would of been off

Harassment of persons lawfully hunting carries up to a $350 fine and revocation of the permit or license under which the violation occurred for the period for which it was issued and barring of the issuance of another permit or license for that same period. Any person adversely affected by a violation of the law shall be entitled to recover actual damages, including expenditures of the affected person for license and permit fees, travel, guides, special equipment and supplies, to the extent that such expenditures were rendered futile by the actions of the person violating the law.
Criminal damage of property carries up to a $1,000 fine and six months in jail. Simple assault brings up to a $250 fine and 90 days in jail.

Had some Ciceros in the blind next to us, and the blind behind us was being hunted by the brother who owned the blind the Ciceros were in. They kept blaring music, finally the blind owner's brother went over there and talked to them and took his brother's mojos and told them they could finish the day but not to come back to that blind. Not to mention they never stopped calling and sprigs and mallards were circling all day but wouldn't decoy anywhere because they were playing the kazoo and Jason Aldean over there.
They need to stay on the Rapides side of the lake.
ETA: there are some hilarious hunter harassment videos of guys duck hunting and crazy ladies freaking out near San Fran and the cops come and tell the lady off, stuff like that.

Right or wrong, the video is pretty savage. Especially the last shot at the decoy as he is pulling off lol.

Wasn’t even his blind just his “spot”
Plaq parish school board land open to public but any location is first come first serve. A lot of pressure wil be put on parish to eliminate guides on parish land or lease out tracts.

Financial repercussions are good, but sometimes inflicting some pain is priceless.

This is what happened at Felsenthal. I quit hunting ducks there.

I have not seen the video but if a dude pulls up pissed off and pulls a gun out, I may not have allowed him to point it.

I wonder what his initial statement was to the. COps when they came knocking at his door……before he knew there was a video?

Would some kind person leave a link to the video that does not require logging in to fakebook?

without seeing the video the duck hunters probably had a window open to use deadly force.
Pointing a gun at someone is felony assault. Brandishing, different, I think a misdemeanor.

Never even came close to pointing it at anyone.

I may be wrong but in self defense if he pulls it lethal force may be justified

Meh. I mean he pulled up right on top of a decoy, did a donut around it, shot it a few times and drove off. And was probably like 25yds from the blind. I get that they had no clue what his intentions were and possibly could’ve justified (legally) a “fear for their life”, but IMO it was pretty clear he was never gonna start popping off rounds at them.
They probably did something to piss him off and he went to go frick with them. Not saying by any means what he did was even close to acceptable, but I won’t lie I laughed pretty hard when I saw the video.
