Guide showed me the lefty kreh knot. It’s simple and easy. Just wet the lines before cinching and pull slow. Look it up

Double uni is undefeated
I used that knot for many years and its a solid knot. I changed to the FG knot about 7 years ago and I would never go back tot the double uni. The FG just has so many advantages
Both strong but the FG is just a better overall knot

I use a variation of the uni for almost all my knots. Double Uni is easy to tie and will hold. I even use it for snelling hooks, it is just so easy to remember one damn knot. I use to try the "best" knot for each application... using the uni makes me much happier, especially when trying to tie it on a boat.

For surf fishing especially why not just use a swivel?

For pure strength, double uni. For going through guides, crazy Alberto. If I am doing it the night before and have more time, FG.
Summary, between uni/Alberto/FG, the FG is superior across the board. Uni to uni in last. The higher the test of the lines, the bigger the difference.
I have gotten pretty efficient at the Alberto, but the FG kills me. FG will still be reserved for night before setups. Alberto for on the water.

Have never had one fail when wading for trout and have caught some huge reds walking in the water. Like favorite baits, stick with what you have confidence in.

I use a simple surgeon's knot; I have never had a problem.

GT is the strongest and easy to tie!

Double uni. Use it from specks to yellowfin tuna. Never fails. I’ve tried the FG, I liked it but forgot how to tie it because the double uni seemed easier… probably because I had done it more.

this is what I use...

Double uni has held up for me up to a 200lb fish, so It works good enough for me.

I might try a double uni with the braid brought back over the tag and half hitched. I hate that tag sticking up.
