My dream of buying a $40 suppressor for a .22 and a pack of skittles in the same grab in the checkout isle at academy is one step closer to reality.

My dream is that they come with all rifles, for safety

The abomination which is the 16" AR15 barrel should be dying an immediate and horrible death soon as well.

I overheard someone say to hunt with a suppressor the ldwf is still requiring a tax stamp. Any truth to this?

I thought you were a bit nuts but the Louisiana statue does mention it. I’m sure the legislature will correct it. We shot ourselves in the foot a bit here, but I doubt they will enforce it.
R.S. 56:116.6 states that any person authorized to possess a firearm sound suppressor, “as evidenced by payment and possession of the required federal tax stamp issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,” may use a firearm fitted with a sound suppressor when taking:

if that is how the laws currently read, you think a game warden won't enforce this with all the ticky tack shite they will do?

I'm glad Tennessee doesn't have a stupid law like that. Now I just need some threading and the can.

There isn’t a required federal tax stamp anymore, so that state law is moot

Required by who? The state of Louisiana could still require it, and you can still get onr.

Can I slap a regular stock on my pistol now? Seems like it.
I can cross state lines without a permission slip.
I can let my cousin borrow my suppressed 22 to hunt squirrels without 10 years in jail.

I’m not a lawyer, but if green jeans tried to ticket me for hunting with a suppressor, then that’s my defense when I go to court. The feds no longer require the tax stamp, so the state law is void since its based upon a federal tax stamp that is no longer required.

I don’t think that is true. Still need a Form 20.

Well now. Good to know. So when I go hunting one state over, I have to take off the butt stock off my pistol, and then after I’m on the next state, I can put the butt stock back on.
