Weather sucks
Drinking coffee.

Watching the radar. About to head out to Summit in 30 minutes to an hour. Try to be in the stand when the rain stops. Have to see how high our creek is. Might not be able to cross it today for a hunt. Going to supper sloppy!

I came out right as the rain stopped to see if the hogs came around. Nothing yet.

I’ll switch to deer at light. If you’re wondering, the deer have been in the pasture all night the past few days and bed down early.

Hoping to get another deer today.

Same setup as the last 2 days. Still at the camp, about to ease on to the stand. That storm was no joke last night. Gotta leave by 10 to make it to Thibodaux for our Anniversary dinner. 29 years today, baws!

Good luck!

Our tradition has been Cinclare’s for the past 8 years. Been to Cuvée several times this year and yeah it’s great. I saw they just changed their menu, need to check it out. Last time we went to Fremins, it was really good too.

Cool and windy
Just turned loose
12 gauge Marlin Goose Gun #4 buck
A 15 year old boy just killed his first deer in front of dogs. Starting the day off with a bang.

Eta: some people laugh at this old gun, but it will sling some buckshot

Breakfast of Buccee’s jerky and slim jims with coffee

It’s still youth season in Wilson County and this is the last year my 16 yr old will qualify. It’s been over a month since we’ve sat in the stand with school events and the holidays. Happy to see the feeder still has corn. So are the pigs.

Hell some days I’m scared to light BBQ pit. It’s not going to take much and this area is going to burn. Very wet spring and summer, it’s like a giant tinder box out there now.

Youth weekend in TN, last chance at deer (on public at least). Will drag the 16yo out later, he will object like he has better things to do but he doesn't. Momma says she needs another deer so we gotta give it a shot. I really hope I'm posting later from a ground blind and not with some lame excuse as to why we didn't end up getting out there. Rain has moved past, at least!

That’ll kill a 4pt through shrubs all day!

ETA: just jokes btw. Killed my first 8pt I mounted in front of dogs and grew up around them. Nothing like walkers, blueticks and beagles right close and you know the deer are coming soon!

I saw a facebook post earlier that portions of middle Glading Rd were under water. We got a whole lot of rain up here.
