I remember an old guy that liked to do to his camp so much that he built a replica of it in his back yard to save him the drive.

Wife couldn't come in without an invitation.

Little less than an hour to our land, but no camp on it. Family land about 5 miles from loggy bayou.

My primary deer/Turkey hunting spot is a private tract about 10 minutes from the house.

My hunting club(mainly ducks & hogs for me) is an hour and a half.

Depends on which stand i hunt. Anywhere from 5 to 25 minute walk from my bedroom.

I walk everywhere. No vehicles unless something is dead.

Thanks for the replies. Right now I’m about 45 minutes from the camp. Looking at purchasing some land and trying to keep it within 2 hours or closer from the house.

1.5 hours to camp, 25 minutes to 25 acre bow spot.

I hunted clubs for years that were 45 minutes from home. Shift work allowed me to kill a bunch of deer during the week.

Use to be 8 hrs to our lease 2 hrs west of Houston because wifey wouldn't have deer shot in the back yard. Now I feed them corn 50 ft behind the back door. From my lounge chair to the back door is about 20 ft. They're pretty tame but nocturnal. Fun to watch though. For meat, I prefer choice/prime beef tenderloin.

If I play the ferry game right 48 minutes, if I have to go through da parish it's an hour and 10 minutes ish... It's weird because close enough I can drive day of hunt, which is good. But, if it was like 2 hours plus my wife wouldn't expect me home until Sunday afternoon.
