I'm also a fan of kayaking, hunting, hiking, and primitive camping. I'd come here more if those topics weren't lost in threads asking about home improvement, lawn care, and F-150s.

So growing corn for hot cropping purposes isn’t an outdoor activity? There’s a ton of us on here that get great satisfaction from growing our own fruit and vegetables. Seperating outdoor gardening from the Outdoor board because a few guys have a problem going to page 2 to look for the 1911 or the AR-15 thread is asinine. Continue to water this site down with numerous tabs and you’ll be bitching that it looks like reddit.

But there doesn't seem like enough traffic for these types of threads to get lost in. There isn't a huge volume like the other boards.
Like another poster said, right now its heavy on lawns, soon it'll be fishing, in the fall it will be hunting, etc. etc. It changes with the seasons.
Right now you could check this board once a day and see any new threads on the first page. Go back to the 2nd and you can see any new posts made in the last 2-3 days. I wouldn't call that getting lost in traffic.

It's not like the garden thread is discussing flower beds. We are talking about producing our own food. It's a topic related to self reliance, self sufficiency.
To me, that seems to be the common denominator in the threads posted here.

Can you tell us what precipitated this? You say it was intended for xyz but has too many other things. Are people complaining about the other things?
I don’t see anything on the help board with people complaining. I haven’t seen anything in other threads complaining about too much home/garden talk. Just because it was intended to be one thing but grew into something greater that somehow self-polices doesn’t mean it needs to be changed.
People that care about hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, are generally the same people that care about gardening, their lawn, their pickup truck, digging ridiculously small ponds, etc. Why would the administration want to separate these topics into two groups?
