Plenty of hunting and fishing talk going on over here. That is not lost because of an occasional lawn/garden thread.
I mean, I get it. And if things change, I'll adapt. I'll still post here about hunting and fishing. But if you're argument is that those topics are being drowned out, then I don't see it.

It should be a baw shite board. or a general outdoors board thing. In fact, it's exactly an outdoor board. The topics covered are exactly what the board's name implies.
On the traffic question, of someone is here to look for info on a gun and see a topic about someone having trouble with their drainage that they could share input on, they'll jump in. Or someone that's looking for info on a new type of reel and another guy is digging a pond and has some questions, they'll jump in that conversation.
It's not like there's some definitive line where things are either all this or all that. Everything gets mixed together with a lot of great input. And honestly it's what makes this board good and other boards (outside of TD not as good). Once boards get too uber-specific, they create silos of information. I'm on another board about a particular brand of tractor. And that message board has like 20 or 30 sub boards about specific models. It sucks because if you don't have that model, you likely won't click another board where you could share info.

Doesn't appear to be a huge issue. Looking at the OP, it seems like his reasoning for the split is because it falls outside of his original vision for the OB, not necessarily because of the volume.

I’m a very very limited contributor to this board because I don’t know jack about anything. So that being said, I enjoy the gardening thread/s. And the what have you built. Not sure there is a need for a separate board or that I would visit it. Just one man’s opinion.

Nothing went over my head. Just pointing out the fact that the biggest whiner in this thread has hardly any posts on this board, and half of them are whining about a problem that isn't really a problem.
FYI: there are more threads about shooting and guns (which is not an exclusively outdoor activity either) on the first page than there are about gardens and lawns. Both are "OUTDOOR" activities.
