Yeah buddy. Love my new Glock 20. I’m on board the 10mm train. Wish ammo was cheaper.

Glock 10mm and a can of bear spray get a comfortable holster system either chest or pack strap based, a rifle will not do you any good when your 10-20ft from it because you set it down or it’s in your pack scabbard.
Go check out the meat eater YouTube video where one of the guys I forget which one evaluated gun vs pepper spray and talked to the guy who was mauled last year or the year before.
In the video it boils down to you have to feel confident in hitting a softball running at you at 25mph from complete surprise within 50ft!
A fogging pepper spray gun increases your [link=(odds.

Your Glock 19 and a can of bear spray will be more than adequate.

Some of these guys have little man syndrome.

Glock makes 10 and 15 round mags only for their 45acp models. I am a Glock stocking dealer for 27 years now.

That’s nice. So you’re well aware of plus 2 extensions and after market mags!

ETS makes a 30 round mag. I’ve put extensions on a number of mine. Wasn’t looking to start a debate… just pointing out that poster put “17 rounds” not a model 17.

Serious question, are humans really a threat while In those areas kayaking ?

Now if it's the bayboat guy form the other thread I understand

If you have a gun that can handle the wildlife I'm sure it can handle ppl. I would be more scared of the wildlife.

Take two guns. 1st is a 45acp glock 17 round clip with jacketed hollow piunt ammo. 2nd 12 gauge pump shotgun unplugged. Loaded wirh alternating shells of slugs and 00 buckshot. Start off with rifled slug in the chamber

I think all of that would be a little cumbersome to carry in a kayak!

Just returned from a Montana trip and first hand saw more Glock 10mm than anything else. But make no mistake, everyone was carrying handguns either in a shoulder holster, a holster attached to a binocular bag or a Denali type chest holster. Very few hip holsters. Buffalo bore or Lehigh type bullets.

Take whatever you have you will be fine there will be so many people on that river with you, you will be lucky to see the moon. Bear spray borrow a 44 mag revolver from a buddy get a chest holster. Wire your camp site you will be fine. Take a dog they will know what’s going on before you.

Probably not but you never know. The Appalachian trail has crackheads... I like the Buffalo bore and Lehigh recommendations. Think I'll go with that. Thanks all

Glock 10mm in a chest holster is extremely popular now. I carry a ruger .45 colt in a chest holster with +p grizzly hardcast. Chest holster is definitely the way to go if you aren't concealing. Works great with a backpack also.

I find these threads very amusing.

Eta....OP, my comment wasn't directed to you although I am responding to you.

Something happening on the water is your biggest concern imo.

I don't always have a gun on me in the woods. I usually don't but if I do my concern is people.

Bear spray is enough. Your space is limited.

Lions are no threat. You aren’t floating overnight in Griz country. No need for a gun.

I think he was saying 17 round mag in the 45 acp not a 45 acp glock 17.
