The money ain't in the mowing. The money's in the edging...

I could never find a reasonably priced non crackhead operation. You went from the guy that wants to charge you summer rates year round to the guy that may or may not show up even during the summer. The best was one kid a couple blocks over, he would walk to our house with his mower and his dad would trim for him, he only wanted $20 a cut but we always overpaid him. I don't know what happened to him.

Yeah, you're a pussy. It's not even that hot yet. You're in your 30s. That's prime time grass mowing age.

If you can afford to have somebody else do it and it makes life better for you to sell it out, I don't see the problem. In fact thats just common sense. You get more time to do other things and somebody else gets a job out of it. Level up.

I worked on a boat for a living so I hired my yard cut I could afford it. Now that I am retired I got me a 22 inch push mower it works great tween my garden boxes and around trees and such been using it for 5 years now and actually enjoy it. Mower is in shop now I may have wore it out. So I am opposite of most of you baws Now that I am old I mow. Old man I had as a tankerman used to occasionally shout "hot on iron, hot on steal, hotter it gets the better I feel!"

I have 4 children, hunt or fish 60 or so days per year, work 50-60 hrs per week, and cut my own damn grass. Don't say you can't find time for it. Say you prefer sleeping until noon and sitting on the couch watching a bunch of 18-21 yr old inner city kids play football.

You ride on a lawn mower and drink beer. I know it will be a long climb down from your high horse, but come on back down here with the rest of us.

He became successful somewhere because he learned at a young age that money is not given to you, it is earned.

If you have teenage boys, MAKE them cut the lawn. I have coworkers who don't make theirs cut because their boys "do such a bad job." Well it is the job of a parent to "coach up" their kids and teach them work ethic, attention to detail and responsibility. It may be more work than doing it yourself, but kids need to learn the lesson.

My wife wanted to cut ours not long after we moved into our house, so I let her cut the back. Her first time to ever cut grass in her 28 years. Let’s just say it wasn’t up to my standards. Or anyone else’s standards for that matter.

For two summers recently I paid someone to cut it because I was going to be working a lot. It was worth it, but when I went back to a regular schedule I just brought myself a new lawnmower and weed eater and went back to doing it myself even though I hate it. We don't have those real cheap guys either like they do it Texas.

I did throw in the towel about five years ago on changing my own oil in the vehicles. Some things just aren't worth it.

Mine tried it once about 5 years ago. I have an awesome video of her a few beers deep trying to push my mower across the front yard. She made about 4 uneven passes and said no wonder you’re tired when you’re done. I recut what she had done and finished the front and the back.

Now that being said, my oldest boy will be 8 in a few weeks and loves being outside. Not much longer and he can handle the mower and I’ll quit paying for the front to be cut.

I am about to he there, I think.

My self propel died, so I have a regular mower now.

Decision will be: buy a new self propelled, or just say frick it.
