I think you answered your question, which wasn't really a question. Yes you are a puss.

I enjoy doing my yard. Actually looking forward to getting off work today and cutting grass as soon as I get home.

I may hire someone when my kid graduates high school and moves out. But for now I have free labor.

I bought an ice chest specifically sized to strap on the deck of my mower that holds the exact amount of beer required to mow the 3 acres I cut.

the 2 hours it takes to cut, edge, weed eat, and blow my yard are the most peaceful 2 hours I get all week

ain't no way someone is taking that away from me

I did it about 5 years ago after fusion sugery. I don't miss it one bit. Instead of doing yardwork for 1/2 the day on the weekend, I'm smoking meats, fishing or relaxing. Best $50/week that I spend.

Then I guess I’m a halfway sellout. I’ve lived in my house for 14 years now, and I still do the back, but shortly after my third child was born I asked my neighbor who was doing their yard service. They cut my small front yard and do weed treatment, edge, and blow it all off. They also cut the house on the other side of his and every two weeks a crew of three guys show up and get to work. One is running the weed eater and another the edger while the main guy rides the zero turn. We get a discount because all three houses are next to each other and they park the truck and trailer once and knock out all three in about 90 minutes.

I still enjoy cutting my backyard but the front has beds to mow around, a large oak with a brick border on the bed, plus the sidewalk, curb, and driveway to edge. It took me twice as long to do that as it did just mowing the back. Now I’m not wasting half of every other Saturday or Sunday trying to do my whole property.

Best $35 I spend every week. The yard crew does an amazing job and allows me do fun things. Cutting my yard is not a pleasurable experience. I did plenty of that growing up. My time is way more valuable.

Time is valuable indeed, but if I don't have time to mow it just keeps growing and I'll cut it when I get around to it. IDGAF if it gets 3ft tall. Conversely, I'll sometimes mow in back to back days on the weekends because it's satisfying and peaceful. My 2 yr old mows with me most of the time. He sits between my feet and passes beers back to me while I swing into the woods every couple passes and pull flowers and leaves for him to play with.

THIS! One thing I LOVE about cutting grass: I can't hear anyone bitching!

I don’t hire shite out unless I have to. Plus, I’d hire my yard done and these fricks would rut my yard with a 1500lb ztr even though it’s rained 12 inches in the last 6 days. No thanks.

So?

If you would prefer paying someone to do it instead of doing it yourself it's a good deal.

Also providing a job for someone willing to work.

Win all around.

My dad is over 80 and mows his grass at both of his houses.
1/2 acre and 3/4 acre.

He has started to get lazy recently and occasionally asks my son to edge for him.

I push mowed my dad's grass twice a week from the time I was 9 yrs old until I left for LSU and I've pushed mine for 12+ years now.....I turned 40 last year. I bought a zero turn for 3/4th acre just last weekend.

I finally said frick pushing....waste of time.

Bunch of wussies!! 84 years old w/ two places to mow.

You squeeze them in around your full time job? I don’t think people stop mowing because they are wussies, I think it is quality of life. They work and don’t want to spend what little time they have off on weekends cutting grass. I still cut mine because I enjoy it, but I definitely see the reasoning of the other side.

I have 4 children, hunt or fish 60 or so days per year, work 50-60 hrs per week, and cut my own damn grass. Don't say you can't find time for it. Say you prefer sleeping until noon and sitting on the couch watching a bunch of 18-21 yr old inner city kids play football.

I still push mow just over half an acre. I like doing it, but for about a month during the summer its on the verge of unbearable.

Nope! "Retired" for the third time if you can call it that,
I spent about 26 hours this last week on designing and creating part drawings for a machinery rebuilding project for our son's business and am in the process of cleaning out my cousin's house since she is now in a home and must sell everything to pay for the nursing home. Spent last Tuesday afternoon fishing after having my semi-annual physical at the doctors office that morning. Not a single bite but what the heck, it was fishing.
