WELL, I am now looking into the glock 17 and it looks perfect for my hand, but how are the safety features, accuracy, and recoil. I know that it'll last a lifetime. I have shot the Px4 before and loved the recoil and how accurate it was along with its safety features. How would you guys rate accuracy, safety features, and recoil for the glock 17.

Safety features on a glock? Don't touch the trigger if you don't want it going bang

Recoil will be the same in the 17 as any polymer full size 9mm

Accuracy and feel in your hand will make the difference in my opinion. It has a slightly steeper grip angle than is standard, and for me that put my front site high when I draw the weapon up. I always have to adjust for that.

The accuracy of the gun will exceed your own skills ubless you get really really good.

With my 19 with a 17 round mag I can usually hit a water bottle at 25 yards with all 17...

It will cut cards at 10ft pretty consistently.

This. Neither of my carry guns have a safety and it has never been bothersome. But if it something you have to have, the PX4 has a slide mounted safety/decocker as opposed to the G19 having nothing.

The feel in your hand will lend to better accuracy.

Pistol accuracy is pretty consistent with any pistol at close ranges (within 25 yards). Even if a pistol can group at 1.5" at 25 yards, for all practical purposes, any pistol will shoot about the same. What makes the difference is how you manipulate the trigger when your sights are on target. That is where true accuracy comes from. So if the pistol feels better in your hand, your form will be better and accuracy should improve, at least in theory.

I would go and hold both of them to see which feels better.

And also, I never got an answer from you earlier. Do you plan on carrying this pistol? If you are, the G19 is better size and width wise than the PX4, although it can be done, just with less comfort. If you don't plan on carrying, either will do just fine.

I own the PX 4 Storm. Too loud for my taste.
It looks great though.
Have a Baretta 92 and absolutely love it. Thinking of buying another one..

I plan on using it as a fun gun at the shooting range/ home defense Bapple. So im narrowing it down to the glocks 17, glock 34, and px4. Im gonna shoot all three at some point in the future.

For the range, I see the G34 being the most fun out of those from a practicality standpoint. Granted, I will probably never purchase a Glock, you get a 5" barrel and 17 round capacity in it. So it will be easier to shoot accurately and will hold the most ammo.

I would still go to a gun store and hold all of your choices. You will know when you hold the right one.

I can also add that the grips on the Gen 4 suck arse. I'm no pussy, but I had to take a break from shooting after 50rds because my hand was hurting

I'd file down the grips and put an extended mag release

Setting the mag release for lefty and using the index finger on the right hand is the easiest fix. Though it takes a little adjustment.

I guess I may be a bit biased since I have an M&P CORE with a 5" barrel and love it. But I still think he'd get more use out of a G17 than a G19. But that's up to the buyer.

I still think it would benefit him the most to go and feel each one. It's amazing what holding one can do.

The upgraded mag release on my HK is glorious.

Slide release is on both sides as well.

I would say neither. Get a FNX/FNS, CZ75 P07, M&P (with apex), XD or SP2022 in Poly. I forgot to add the best striker fired out right now (IMO) The Walther PPQ

CZ75, Beretta 92/Taurus 92, or RIA 1911 in metal.

eta: Those were all under 600.

I got a CZ75 Omega for my first and I love it. If I were to have gotten a poly pistol it would have been a FNX or CZ75 P07 or Phantom SP01. I like hammer fired better.

holding them in your hands is totally different than asking people who own, carry, and depend on them for their protection every day.

She has shot it less times than me and Im tired of looking at it.

On that Beretta PX4, see if you can flip the safety on and off 5 times without your thumb hurting. No idea why they come with sharp edges like that from the factory. Otherwise, it's a great pistol.

Both guns are light accurate and reliable.

One thing you might not have considered is the price of additional magazines.
You can find Glock magazines for @ $20.
Beretta magazines are closer to $40.

That's incredibly naive.
