Just read on a QDMA article that Maryland allows 35 does per hunter. Insurance claims on deer/vehicle collisions must be through the roof there?

Bet all those suburbs liberal Karens dont want to allow residential area bowhunting near their properties.

And a South LA hunter would try to kill 36

Damn I couldnt kill 35 if I tried unless I took 3 months off work

A South LA hunter would have 10 does at their corn pile and wait for spike instead of shooting a doe

Go watch the Seek One episode when they shoot 100 does outside Atlanta. Pretty wild how these city’s hold so many deer.

South Carolina gave us an extra doe tag this year and I’ve gotten several reminders on our hunting app to shoot does.

This x1000 while proudly stating “can’t eat horns.”

Best I’ve done is 7 in one sitting and 17 in 3 days. Never been so sick of cleaning deer.

There's a hunter I follow on social media who routinely kills >50 deer/year, all using handguns in WV. He's a former MD, but is now retired. He kills 2-3 deer during the regal deer hunting season. The rest are killed using crop degradation permits, mostly on Christmas tree farms. He has good relations w/ a number of farmers in the area who give him permits The Christmas tree deer kills are always does and he has to witness them eating on the tree. He skins all the deer and donates them to a food charity. I can imagine how badly the buck/doe population is misaligned in Maryland in order for the game commission to allow so many doe kills/hunter.

Winters Quarters took 400 last season, to reduce their herd size. Never heard what percentage of those that was positive for cwd.
I cant imagine cleaning snd processing 400 deer.

Due to the current prices of food at the grocery store, I plan to harvest as many as my two sons and I can take this season.
This reminds me of one particular hunt last season.... My youngest son and I were sitting together. He was 9 at the time. My oldest son was across the property from us and must've been asleep or stuck in his cell phone as I could see deer across the filed by him. Next thing I know, youngest and I had 5 does come in on us. Prior to this hunt, he was 2/2 in deer shots to kill ratio. He takes aim at the largest mama doe, tells me he was on her, clean miss. All 5 of the ones we had by us run off. I tell him to be quiet as we have another 15 minutes or so to hunt before dark set in. Five minutes later, they come back out to us. He misses again, but they didn't know whether to shite or go blind. I bolted another round in his gun for him and tell him to take a deep breath and make this one count. He drops a doe in her tracks. Mama doe is still lingering around and I put her down with the youngest's gun. Oldest texts me asking WTF we are doing shooting so much.
That hunt was a hoot for me and the youngest. He still has a pic of both of our dead does side by side as the wallpaper on his cell. Now I am ready to kill does. Today.

I hate killing does to tell the truth.i was in a club for awhile that wanted each member to kill 3,I did it but didn’t really care for it,I shot all mine with my muzzleloader to make it a little more challenge.Wasn’t a modern mz,it was a old type, round ball with black powder.
Now I only hunt on my own land I’ve never shot one.Only have 300 acres and some of the neighbors shoot them.
Don’t shoot small bucks,I always wait for something with decent antlers or screwed up horns like a branched antler on 1 side and a spike on the other.
What pisses me off is every year I’ll get pictures of a stud wandering around my property but always at night and I never see them.
Had one last year,10 pt I would guess was 5 1/2 y.o.,got 20 pictures of him but always 1-2am.

If you're talking about the eastern shore, you're talking about an area that is almost entirely private. The landscape is covered with hobby farms that range from 10 - 200 acres in size where very few people ever hunt.
Their deer population is outrageously high.

What's your reasoning behind this? At my age I no longer shoot as many because of the effort I have to put forth to get them out and clean them.

I was fortunate enough to hunt as a kid in a phenomenal club in Alabama mid 80-90s killed 3 in one hunt 7 Ina a week plus the 5-6 my grandpa
And uncle killed.
It gets to be work, I don’t hate them that much anymore!!

The doe shoot we do every year is for a client, so it technically is work. It's not very fun, honestly, and certainly not hunting. Just need to be able to shoot straight and often.
It has ruined any desire I might have to kill does at our lease. I leave that up to my wife now, it helps with her bloodlust and probably saves a 3 year old 8 point from her wrath every year.

must be nice to have too many deer

It’s not when you watch the same 8 does come eat everyday for 3 months and it’s against club rules to shoot them, but everybody gathers around in amazement when Jimbaw shoots the first 4pt he sees.

I’m from South LA and have a hard time counting to 30, much less 36…
We try to shoot does when they get to be too many. This year will be one of those years.
