My brother has always supplied me beer while he dug the graves for my dogs.
I've always done the same for him.
Both of us are too pussy to do it ourself but that's what you've got brothers for, right?

I buried 4 dogs in a 18 month period. I put them under the biggest oak tree on the farm

We put our last two dogs in the house fire pit that passed. They both passed during the winter... not sure what we’d do during a summer passing.

Not anymore. Now it’s cremation or disposal by the vet school. I’m not digging anymore holes till I get a backhoe.

Yep. And the last one was over 100lbs. That was a big hole!

I’ve buried 1 dog and 1 cow on my land. The cow was a big hole. Most farmers just drag them to the corner of their land and let nature take them. I couldn’t do it. Gave her a proper burial.

I'll do it every time. Outside by myself bawling like a baby.

Buried my dog in a box with her favorite toys
Then planted a rose bush on her grave site.
A Jack Russell

Yes, we have a dog cemetery and at the last burial the local vet and his brother who is the local Wildlife guy came to the funeral

Only dog I've ever buried was my wife's dog she had as a teenager. Mid july, and the hardest ground I've ever seen. Shovel would take out about 1/2" at a time.
Ended up having to get the tractor auger out. Miserable experience all the way around. But I'm sure I'll do it again for my girls
Eta- my FIL, who is a perfectionist of the highest accord...required the hole to be like 4 ft deep and then 6 inches of concrete over the box the dog was in. Ain't nothing digging that up

Cremated the last 2, not going to bury a dog when I know I’m not a forever house

Ah man. Hate to hear that.

Buried my first one. The last 2 got eaten by buzzards and worms. Dead animals don't know the difference. The only way im burying a dog is if my kids see it die and want to me to bury it.

I've got 2 buried in my back yard, along with a couple cats too. I didn't bury my last two but had them cremated. They were large dogs and my back yard is almost completely clay based, and like every yard in N.O., you dig down 2 ft. and the hole starts filling with water if the ground is even moderately damp.

pet cemetery is out back, you may find it easier to simply say "i'll see you later" rather than "good bye" as your paths will cross again, they will be waiting for you, your time will come, just not yet...
