I read that they tied it into the SAVE act. I won't be surprised when it does not pass.

based on what ive read, the earliest sunset I would see would be 6:30 (Austin, TX) . That gives me an 1.5-2hrs at worst after work.

I've wanted this for decades. Who bitching thinks they are going to bed before 8 pm anyway? Bunch of retards.

The only people that have the right to bitch are the ones where daybreak would be 9 am, but that won't be Louisiana.

Agree. People only think about the afternoon. When little Jaxon and Harleigh are at the bus stop in the dark they wont be happy.

I'm in bed by 7:30 most nights

I'm torn on this one. I like getting home from work and having more daylight to frick around in. When hunting, I like getting done hunting earlier so I can have a good dinner and whiskey before getting to bed earlier.

Hell, most of us will be at our desks in the dark

Once duck season starts, I like the early sunrise as I can get weekday hunts in and get back to the office in a reasonable time.

Daylight savings time year round will be awful.
I really don't think people realize this.

They don't. They just think more light after work. This is a terrible idea. Not getting light until 8 in the morning up North in freezing temps is gonna be bad for schools, buses, commutes, etcc.

I'm in the minority, but if they wanted to do away with it and keep is standard time year round I'm fine with that. Hell it doesn't get dark until almost 9:00 here now.

On further look, it seems like they are going to attach this to the SAVE act which is going to get shot down so I am less confident the DST bill happens

On the bright side, the R's voting against will be famous.

I work 7-4 during the fall and winter. My closest duck lease is 8 minutes from my office and deer is 45 minutes. I'm driving to work in the dark most of the time anyway but the ability for an afternoon hunt is way better before time change. I would absolutely love it.

Theyll be in the dark in 3rd period in some places. It was tried once already and everyone hated it. Standard time however has stuck most places it was tried. Its much better, if you insist on changing from what we have now. What we have now is fine.

There are many reasons to like or dislike it, but my personal reason for at wanting this is I wouldn’t have time to hunt before work in the spring. I’d rather it got daylight at 4am in March and April.

It’s gonna really hurt making a hunt before work.

Think about dinner time at a hunting club in the winter. Once you get done helping everyone find, load and clean deer most nights you won't eat dinner until 8-9pm that will suck bigly.

I'm ok with the move but I am a morning person and really prefer earlier sunrises rather than later.

Aint novody thinking about this. I like being back at camp at 1830 with a cold beer and a warm meal.

Wake up early if you want to see the sunrise.

Theres no problem with the way it is now but if we must pick one, it needs to be standard time.

Agree. I also told my wife I could leave the house at 5 instead of 4 and be in my best blind by shooting light.

I’m ready to sleep in later and deer hunt later.

So, let's totally disregard the whole premise of a clock, set it to something different and hope it somehow changes the entire solar system, so that you can somehow feel like you got an extra hour of sleep; when in reality, you will just end up going to bed later.

Right, we actually tried staying on daylight saving time year-round once about 50 years ago and people thought they would like it, but ended up hating it. I would like to try it again to see if we like it better this time.

I lived in El Salvador for almost 20 years starting in the mid 80s. Never changed time and I loved it. Think we will adjust easily.

Legislative changes are complex, and immediate implementation is rarely clear.
