So you would be cool with buying a new car, refrigerator, entertainment center, dining room table, etc..., and the finish coming off of it as soon as you took posession?

I wouldn’t buy the Black Friday tractor supply cheap arse special if I was worried about quality.

Our great room is rustic post & beam so I was gonna keep in there being as the wife didn't mind it with the decor

Scuff and scratch it some more. Give it that antique look to go with the rustic look.

That's only the beginning of your problems. You'll have a lot more to deal with when the lock fails. "Quality only hurts once" Buy a Liberty and be done with it.

If you need to move it again, take the door off. The door alone weighs about 125 pounds.

Most safe movers will pull the door, I think the Canon instructions even suggest it.

I’m with you. It’s sad that our expectations at any price have fallen to accept crappy quality and workmanship.

I’d go after the manufacturer. It isn’t Tractor Supply’s fault. The TS I go to has decent people and will likely pay for the manufacturer’s garbage QC out of their pocket to keep a customer happy.

It will take more effort, but unless you go after Cannon, there’s no reason for them to improve.

Call cannon, see what they offer to do. Then decide.

I’ll make all of y’all feel a little better….

About 15 years ago, wife surprises me with this badass Browning safe. We were just getting into our careers. Bought a nice house, life couldn’t be better.

Gets delivered, put it on a rug so it WOULDN’T, NO CHANCE, EVER scuff the cypress floors we picked out. Set it down ever so gently, right smack in the living room. It’s glorious.

Decide to move it a little- should be able to slide it, right? It’s on a rug. HOLY shite- now there’s a big gash in the floor.

Go jack it up, find a huge weld BB sticking out the bottom.

So yeah, doesn’t matter if it’s a $700 safe or a $1700 safe, or a $7000 safe- shite happens.

And I’m still disgusted about it. 15 years later. Don’t even live in that house anymore. And each and everytime I pass the house- I still throw up a little about it.

What happened to OP sucks- we should have higher expectations of things we buy.

Take the 50.00 and contact a vinyl printing company and either come up with a new design for the door or have them make a vinyl in the color that best matches the safe.

If it's much hassle should I just demand that tractor supply come pick it up?

I emphasize with your aggravation but what you wrote above is t happening...no way no how. You also aren’t getting a new door LOL

the safe needs a scrape and re-paint. Any competent painter can do it. Take the 50 bucks (or negotiate up) and mark the case closed.

Why would they do that? You bought something at a self delivered price and you should get self delivered service. If you want white glove service to go a dealer that services their product.

Now they should accept it as a return once you load it up and bring it back. It is their problem if it gets banged up in the process.

Maybe I can touch it up better than I think. As I was saying it's on my fireplace wall and in plain view. So I'd rather it not look like arse right outta the box. That's all

For sure. I’m just fricking with you. Same type of shite happened to me a few weeks back. Samsung fridge with tv screen on it and the door was scratched on side about an inch. Cost right at 4K and I was pretty upset.

All my griping and it’s still sitting there scratched and nobody even notices it.

Some shite we have to just let be.

Ida has my house in disarray. Took the 65” tv off the wall. Daughter puts a 2” scratch bottom right hand corner. I was pissed!! It’s back up on the wall. No one notices it.

If it bothers you, bring it back. Have it repainted. Where you live? I’ll come buy it from you.

This. If you don't like the Canon offer, take the $50 and paint from TSC, repaint it and cover up the tainted area w/ a nice family picture. The picture will score you some points w/ your wife. It's not worth it to cause you more frustration by dragging out the bad experience any longer.

If it's just a little paint I wouldn't worry about it, especially at how much of a pain safes are to move. As long as its functioning correctly, but that is just me.
