Bought a defective 48 gun safe from tractor supply yesterday

Curious what the board would do. I'll cliff note best I can
Been waiting for their sale and bought the Cannon 48 that's regularly $799 for $599 yesterday. Was pretty rough getting into the house with my BIL without scraping or scuffing. Our great room is rustic post & beam so I was gonna keep in there being as the wife didn't mind it with the decor
In a nutshell, when I got into place, I pulled the cardboard display pic off the front of the door the adhesive goop that went around the edge of the page lifted the paint slap off under it. Like bare metal. Almost like they slapped it on before the finish was fully cured
When I called, they offered me another 50 bucks back (whoopty doo) plus some paint for ME to repair. I laughed that off and now waiting to talk to the vendor on Monday
If it's much hassle should I just demand that tractor supply come pick it up? Or do yall think the vendor will pay a technician to come swap the door out or something
Weird situation. Just curious what yall thought. Thanks

Tons of reviews online saying that happens.

Did you call tractor supply or Cannon?
I would take the $50 and paint, fix it and move on with my life.

Opened thread expecting it to be an actual defect. Lock won’t lock. Door doesn’t close right. Wrong combo opens door.

I would put a sticker over it and go on my with life. Absolutely nothing wrong with the actual important part of the safe right?

Well I wasn't exactly clutching any pearls over it. Just stating its in the main area of the house and we handled the big bastard with alot of care when lugging it for that reason
Should I shrug off something for 600 bucks that looks like shite now?

No, you should take the $50 and paint the damn bitch. And not call a scuffed safe “defective”

It’s a $600 safe.
Seriously, what did you expect?

It’s just paint, repaint it

You think a big arse patch of finish pulling off the face down to bare metal isnt defective? From something a fricking hour old?
Forget it lol

no, I do not think cosmetic damage makes a safe defective.
The lock not working or the door not closing properly would be defects

Cool. It's a cosmetic defect. Apparently I shouldve worded it different. Didnt think yall would OT me to death about it lol

I think you’re totally overreacting here. It’s only 550 for a a safe once you get the rebate and they are sending touch up paint.
Not trying to be a dick, but 550.00 for a safe is a not a premium product. I would say you get what you pay for. Also if the small paint issue is the only thing that’s wrong I think you made a good deal
All that said, frickem and bring it back

No doubt. I wasn't hunting a premium product. Truth be told I half bought it for ammo storage because I like the shelving setup in this one
Maybe I can touch it up better than I think. As I was saying it's on my fireplace wall and in plain view. So I'd rather it not look like arse right outta the box. That's all

It obviously bothers you and I can understand.
Either tote it back and swap or pick up a replacement door.
Maybe a manager could sweeten the $50.

Id ask for a full replacement. Cannon should stand behind their brand and TSC the sale of their merchandise. $50 isn't much off. Make it a $100 or they come pick it up.

Your a reasonable person. I was actually thinking 200. Im not a grubby person but it was a major chore getting this guy into the house. I live comfortably, largely because I do shite like wait 6mo to buy a gun safe on black friday. But the fact that its not a minor inconvenience to swap out is kinda the point
But it's the internet, so im a karen for wanting it like it sits at the store which is fine

So you would be cool with buying a new car, refrigerator, entertainment center, dining room table, etc..., and the finish coming off of it as soon as you took posession?
