What's a good lever action rifle that has the stopping power to take down a hog, deer, or man?

You can get a lever in just about any caliber you want I think. Some may not be that common but they are there.

30-30 and 45-70 are popular deer calibers I've shot. I would love to have a 357mag marlin.

What about a Rougarou? I'd feel better with a judge on my hip.

Lever action must use round nose or polymer tipped ammo. Pointed tip would hit the primer of the round in front of it if rifle was ever dropped. Lever must also use rimmed cartridges. You'll never see lever in 9mm, 45 Auto, 30-06, .223, etc.

Can't work lever while in the prone position. The lever would drag the ground

Lever action = ambidextrous

This = important (for those of us who shoot left handed.)

Nilgai? I've killed all my deer and pronghorn and most of my hogs with a .223 but its kept me from harvesting a nilgai.

Also capable of killing almost anything in its path.

I like how the 45-70 bullet just kind of moseys along all the while shooting through anything in its path.

Not Dzhokhar Tsaraenv! 10,000 Boston cops, Homeland security, National Guard, and FBI couldn't kill that muthafuka. I hate his terrorist arse, but that sumbich is hard to kill.

Marlin has one in 308. But I think that is a different cartridge then the 308 win. Correct?
