Do you really think a 140gr bullet moving around 2600-2800 cares what brass its coming out of?
And, there is it.

guarantee more deer are crippled by people that are scared shitless of the recoil from their magnums than are crippled by Creedmoors.

Won't argue with that. If I had to guess I'd say 7 mag is leading the pack for blood trails I've put my dog on.

Does it still count if most of them were the same dude?

If you don't shoot the right bullet in it you will have problems finding deer. My brother and his BIL have shot 7mags for over 30 yrs, they learned early that bullet choice makes a huge difference in this caliber.

A lot of trackers have told me they have been on a bunch 6.5 CM tracks. I personally would never own one because a .308 will do anything a 6.5 CM will do and easier to find ammo.

There's lots of 6.5 ammo out there for it that I wouldn't hunt with. ELDX, Berger hybrid, other match-type stuff.

Regular 140+gr soft point is where it's at with the 6.5's

That’s the biggest issue with the caliber,, majority of the people who buy them at academy cus the gun guy told them they can shoot 500yards with no drop then buy the most available bullet for them (hornady match/hornady black)
Buddy shot a pig the other day with one at about 65yards with a hornady match. I found several pieces of jacket prolly weighing 15grains in the ribs and spine. Pig dropped cus it was spine but no doubt the bullet just exploded on impact.

.308 Winchester.....the poor man's '06

Fix it for ya.

There is no reason to choose a 308 over a 3006 or 270.

Son i know more about ammo and guns than you ever will kid. When you get educated call me. There is a reason no blood trailers here will even come out to a call when they ask what round was shot. Once they tell them the cripplemore, they tell them good luck, they wont even bring a dog out to waste time

There’s 3 pages of people telling you you don’t know what you’re talking about. The guy who mentioned leading a horse to water said it best honestly.

But seriously, thanks for instilling your knowledge on everyone here.

It’s all about the bullet selection. I have a 6.5 creedmore that I shoot in competition.
I shoot a 105 grain Berger hybrid that are buzzing down range at about 3000fps at the muzzle. If you do your part, it will hit an eight inch square steel plate at 1000yards every time, if you can. It is flat out a steel killer and paper hole puncher.
That being said, you shoot a deer at 1 or 200 yards, that bullet is going to fragment upon entry and basically fly apart. The bullet would flat out fail because it is not designed for hunting, penetration and holding together dor a pass through. Would not leave an exit would, or any blood trail either, and would prob end up loosing an animal. You simply cannot shoot a deer with a thin skinned, non bonded target bullet and expect any different results.
If I were going to hunt with it, would prob use a Hornady eld-x 143 grains. Prob would not be as accurate, but the bullet would have excellent terminal performance.
But, my 6.5 stays in the safe relegated to long range competition fun.
When I hunt, I use a 308 that I built. While there are lots of great calibers out there, and all of them will kill a deer, my fav is 308. Easy to find in stores, easy to reload, recoil is light.

Lol stop man.

Give a REASON, from a ballistics perspective, that it sucks. Stop stalling.
