One of the OB ballers needs to buy this boat. Freeman makes a heck of a boat and this is a really good price.

Jump on it.

What is the deal with the "bottom paint"?

I see where a few people ask about it, and he replies that its only $4k to remove.

I have no clue what it is, just curious...

I am amazed at the number of people who apparently have $200k to spend on a boat. I must be doing something wrong.

i can't tell either. it is either the color of the hull, which is not shown in the pics or there is a bottom paint on there, which refers to paint used to prevent fouling that may have gone bad.

People don't like bottom paint. It's ugly and you have to reapply it every so often and it supposedly takes away from your performance numbers. People who trailer and put their boats on lifts or on dry storage don't use it. It's used on boats that are left in the water for long periods of time, helps keep stuff from growing on the hull.

it's a different type of paint for boats kept in the water. most folks don't like it on CCs because it can hurt speed and fuel economy

I'll wait until the price drops to $11,000, then I will get some buddies together and borrow some money.

I'm not a fan of bottom paint because of the look. If I'm dropping the equivalent of a house mortgage on a boat, I'm not putting some crappy looking paint on the bottom of my boat. But I'm also probably not keeping my boat in the water if I can help it. I'll clean and wax the hell out of it before doing that.

Now bottom paint on a sport fisher is a different story, because you have no choice but to leave it in the water.
