Sons of bitches. Behind/under my arm where it meets my shoulder, above my dick, on my ball sack and tonight one on my inner thigh.

I swear I'm checking my clothes when I come in and inspecting myself in the shower but these frickers keep getting me.

About to start the dogs on bravesta but I havent noticed any ticks on them lately but I'm not taking any chances. Using the Frontline liquid right now.

If I get Lyme and can't eat meat I'm going to be big mad.

Spead insectcide granules all over your lawn.

We use Sawyers Maxi Deet and it works pretty good. Ultimately, if you live in the country, you will have ticks. Best you can do is minimize them.

Avoid brushing against branches as that is one of the main ways they fall on you.

Treat your clothes (everything, including gloves, hat, underwear, shoes, socks) with permethrin. In addition, spray down with Off, etc., errytime you go into the woods.

You need to spray your clothes with permethrin before going outside again.

Got 5 on me in two weeks

Had another 7 crawling on me in that time that was able to swat off.

All while shed hunting. Gave up once it started heating up, ticks came out, weeds got thicker, and started to see more cottonmouths.

Ticks at my place have been brutal the last 2 years. The dogs haul off into the woods so they will get them of course.

Constant battle. Spraying talstar P about every 3-4 weeks. Keep everything cut and weed eated down as much as I can.

Have a set of yard work clothes I spray with permithrin and I spray off with deet every time I'm out in the yard.

Must not be a turkey hunter, 4 is a good day.

Permethrin keeps them off until they go kamakaze on ya.

I think I've only gotten 2 ticks since I started using permethrin about 6-7 years ago. I used to get a ton during turkey season

Buy this and use it

As other have said. This stuff here works and works well. Spray your shirt, sox, and pants. Last for several washings.

Ticks dont climb trees . mostly hang out in the long grass. I wear long socks and douse the hell out of my shoes and socks with 100% deet. Usually keeps them off me.

Been the worst tick year I can ever remember in Beauregard parish. Sat on the ground and hunted in December and flicked 14 off me.

Two days later I walked to the creek and back with my dog. I counted 20 I took off him.

I have never heard of anything like this and almost feel like we should call wildlife and fisheries.

In Arkansas in turkey season I woke up, packed up camp, and started driving home. Two miles down the road I can feel something off with my right eye, so I close my right eye and rub it. My eyelid hurts a little when do. fricking tick crawled onto my eyelid and latched on while I was sleeping in the camper. Had to pull it off with a hand on the wheel! Buddy who was with me was in disbelief as was I

Picked two off me coming out the woods a couple of weeks ago. Something about grabbing a tick off you... your brain feels the need to make you think you've got a hundred on you.

Not a bad defense mechanism.

I second what bbvdd says. The Sawyer spray on clothing works great. I used it this year and sprayed my turkey hunting clothes with it the night before hunting and found 1 crawling tick on me after two days in the MO woods. Last year without it I was covered in them. Like feeling them crawl all over me bad.

Also, companies make clothes that come impregnated with it. You may want to look at those.

Another win for prescribed fires is they really help control the tick population.

It's been a horrible year for ticks. I like to think my chickens help to some degree, but I burned all the wooded areas around my property and have noticed a significant decrease as long as us or the dogs aren't venturing into unburned areas. I never mow my managed properties until July 1st, but I've about put the mower up for good anyway and burn once a year. The wildlife big and small has exploded, and I'm noticing my deer in the winter have far fewer ticks on them when we take one.

Luckily Lyme disease isn't as prevalent in the south as up north, but I did hear of a 2 year old getting it in my town and it's already causing lots of problems. Docs say it's going to be a lifelong issue.

I am alergic to deet, so treat all of my clothes with permitherin. All the guys at work wear flea collars around their boots.
I also keep the extra strong lint rollers and use it before I get in the truck. Amazing what that thing will pick up.

Ticks are no joke, have seveal friends that have tick illnesses. From not being able to eat meat, to lymes, and rocky mountain syndrome.

People walk around like snakes are the biggest worry in the woods. At least with a snake bite you know what hit you and what to expect. People can exhaust doctors for years trying to figure out something a tick gave you.
