Found a "sex box" once when walking with my young kids in an area accessible from our house, a large area of "common property" of about 150acres.
We were approaching this creek, which becomes a torrent after a big rain, and I saw this beautiful wooden box flipped in a bend. I'm thinking "Jackpot." As we approach, I noticed there's stuff scattered all around, figured it was trash.
We get closer and I realize it's the biggest assortment of dildos, butt plugs, and lube I've ever seen. My 7yr old reaches for one, "Dad, what's this?"
I shout "Everyone Freeze! Take 10 steps back." I turned us around and got out of there.
I still wonder what this was - Did the creek wash away someone's box of fun? Did they hide it down there for use at home, or did they conduct their sessions there? Probably 30min walk from the closest house if you go straight down a bluff.

I read the thread title and was coming to type, "My buddy and I found a couple of strange baby dolls one time...."

I lived up in Jackson, MS. many years ago and worked on the Ross Barnett Reservoir and one day decided to head across the lake to an area called Pealahatchie Bay (SP?) to do some rabbit and duck hunting.
Long story short, I pulled the boat I was in close to the bank, tied it off and started walking in the woods. About 100 yards in I started spotting gravestones, some upright, some lying on the ground, many broken in pieces. It was obvious this place hadn't been tended to in years since it was very overgrown. It didn't help with the eerie feeling since it had been very foggy that morning and it gave the place an even more eerie feeling to it.

Graveyard too. An old family I believe that died. Supposedly Indians after the Indians were all defeated. Some had fallen over. Some had been shot. Who the hell has the balls to shoot tombstones? I’m not the most superstitious person, but that’s one I’d leave alone.
Probably 8-10 stones along the side of a creek. Other depressed areas of soil another the size of a coffin. You can tell the coffin collapsed over the years and it and whoever was inside are long turned to dust.

Also, random porn mags. Back when porn mags were all u had. Just in random spots. Not really by a tree. I’d always think,” old Baw just skinned his squirrel right here in this clearing?” No trees or bushes for cover.

We used to always hear stories about devil worshippers out there, but we never saw any.
I’ve heard the same things. I know someone was living in the woods near one of my hunting areas. I believe he was living out of the tent.

Didnt one of our posters find a human skull at their place in TX? I faintly remember a long thread 5 or 6 years ago about it. I think it turned out to be a missing bordercrosser.
Rize, MillerMan...y'all remember what I'm talking about?

No, this is the link to the very long/very old thread about creepy things found in the woods. A good read, add your stories there...

Some friends and I in our early teens went to go fishing at a pond behind our house on some property we leased. Got to the pond and found some tents and cooking gear with a fire going. Some homeless guy grabbed one of my friends from behind a tree and started cussing at us to get out of there and two more came out of the tents. Let him go and freaked us the hell out. Long story short. Dad went back there armed to the teeth, threatened to kill them all. Threw all their shite in the pond and called the cops. Still remember how bad those frickers smelled.

I found a pair of boots covered with moss sitting on top of a large mound of dirt. Its out in the remote Ouachita national forest. Next time I pass the spot I'll get a picture and post it.

When I was 9 years old my dad took me deer hunting at Camp Beauregard. He was in the army and had permission. We were walking together when I noticed an artillery shell. As we looked around there were at least a hundred of them all over the ground partly covered with leaves and mud and all around us. He put me on my shoulders and carried me out of there carefully. As it turned out they were left over from the Patton maneuvers prior to WWII. Many were still live.

I've been there a few times, there's still signage about Unexploded Ordnance.
The last time I went out there, my buddy and I were sighting in our .22 rifles. This sheriff's deputy shows up and starts asking us questions and looking around the area, like he thought we were drug dealers or something.
What a tool.

Not in most of yall's neighborhood, but here in central Oklahoma when I was a teen, went out looking for new fishing ponds to sneak onto with my buddy from a couple towns over.
He had lived out there in the sticks his whole life but had never been more than about a half mile South of his parents' house, so South it was on that day.
About a mile into our journey, we came across about a quarter acre that was lined with what was obviously once old fence posts and barbed wire which was rusted to nothing. All but a couple of the posts were rotten on the ground and the ones left standing could have blown over with the slightest breeze.
We noticed several strange mounds. About 10 feet long by 6 feet wide by 4 feet high. Had to have been 12-15 mounds, and then we found the graves. Some wooden grave markers that were beyond recognition. But, a few old stone gravestones that appeared hand carved, and dated from about 1830-1860 death dates, all with obviously European last names. The mounds then made a little more sense.
Never actually found any history about the place. But it looked as if some pre-settlement Europeans had befriended and coexisted with some Plains Indians in that area. It was a really pretty area by a small runoff creek with a couple of ancient oaks that were probably growing way back when those settlers and natives were still alive.
My friend committed suicide about 10 years ago and the neighbor who owned that property was at the memorial. I told him the story and asked if he cared if I spread a bit of my buddy's ashes at that old grave site. He just gave me a strange look and said "No such graveyard exists on my land. And if it did, nobody needs to go disturb it."
I'd still like to go see it again and get some pictures, but haven't done so and don't really know if I want to
