So a Cat 2 landfall. Well, I think this might get people's attention in the morning.

Oh yes. I just hope we have power restored for Halloween. The kids have been looking forward to it and with the year they have had, they deserve something normal.

While the path forecast has been good on Zeta, Forecasters missed on intensity with the new cat 2 expectation with 12 hours to go before effects are felt.

I'm looking for the graphic showing the detailed/zoomed view projected course of where its crossing the MS coast or Slidell. I think it's on the NHC website, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

The majority of the early Tuesday models had Zeta reaching high Cat 1 and more than one at Cat 2.

So how confident is the city that the remnants of the Hard Rock can withstand these winds? That would be a ton of debris at risk of moving around right?

Another rapidly intensifying storm to hit Louisiana. I think Mother Nature is taking out her wrath on JBE.

Over here in St Charles Parish. Storm intensity has picked up and the track doesn't really seem to have changed, yet the winds I'll get according to the nhc hourly graphs have backed off somewhat. Has the wrapped up eye created a narrower field of hurricane force winds or am I just putting too much stock into those graphs?

Pressure down some more, maybe 981-980 based on recon extrap.

06z GFS basically a copy of 00z Euro.

I'm going to get a few hours sleep before getting out of town with the little one, who just got done shitting all over everything. She breaks conservation of mass I swear.

Coming in hot. Center will scrape Port Fourchon and west of Grand Isle, and head NE to MS.

NHC interactive map page. Colors represent chance of TS force winds.

It's crazy to me that they are forecasting tropical storm force winds all the way into Atlanta, but BR may not get much of anything...

Nearly 100 pages I imagine someones pointed out how appropriate it is this storm’s name starts with a “Z”, and were at the exact tail end of hurricane season and by all means this should be the last one unless we’re headed for a true record breaker here. Which is all the more appropriate given this is 2020.

Why, it’s a small fast moving storm tracked over Atlanta...

.

Go to the Zeta page on the NHC site. Look at graphic icon’s and choose interactive warning map. Set it to satellite image and set filters for what you want.
