I know I’m on a self ban but I can’t watch y’all frick this up any longer...

The point and click forecast for the NWS is wonky. The same service has MSY airport with sustained peak winds at 70mph, but Mandeville, a point that will undoubtedly be further from the storm center, with peak winds of 80mph. That’s simply incorrect.
So I’m right and you are still screaming at me?

NWS seems completely out of whack

So I'm sitting here in my house in the Garden District... Couldn't leave today because work (as I previously mentioned on page like 99) didn't cancel today and most everyone showed up and seemed to have lulled everyone into a false sense of security.

Now just sitting here too late to leave. This is going to be a shitty shitty evening. frick.

Zeta seems to be winding up really nicely before it punches NOLA metro area.

Thanks. I've ridden out a few in my 50 plus years but was not here for Katrina or Gustav.

Cindy and Andrew are the worst I've experienced here.

SE Q is Cat 3 possibly if we factor in decay to surface.

In River Ridge
from what I gather, we should expect 40 mph sustained winds and gusts in the 50s

Or, we can use the NWS which has us at 70 mph sustained winds and 90 gusts

SE quad should be farthest from NOLA metro so theyve got that going for them, which is nice

With that and the surface estimate, I'd call it 95 kt. Just a hair short of Cat 3 but there's data in that pass to justify 115 mph.

The strongest winds extend to about 90.9 west at the moment. I'm hoping that they end up over the marsh in Leeville and Barataria Bay and don't run right up Bayou Lafourche. Have to shift over to about 90.2 West to miss all but Grand Isle. It will be close.
