Antibiotics.
I tend to agree that this is one of the absolute requirements... but how would you make it? I've googled "How to make penicillin at home" and it's a fricking nightmare of a recipe.
Claire can do it in Outlander.

You could finance a pretty good lifestyle now which you couldn't back then. Depending on the city, being a baller back then would be awesome

Being able to successfully integrate into society and not piss anyone off due to ignorance of the cultural norms of wherever I am (obviously not the United States). Beyond that, I don't have the skill set to create anything technologically remarkable for any era. I also don't have enough knowledge of that particular time period to give history a nudge in a better direction.
It would be pure survival mode.

Go to the Library of Alexandria and spend years there going through books and scrolls (assuming I can magically read them). No brainer for me.

Mid 17th would be hard. I don't have the materials to make anything modern and I don't know every detail of how to make machines. Even a concept sketch is science fiction.
1905 might be easier - I could predict the SF earthquake and Tunguska event and convince people I'm a prophet. Then try to prevent the Bolsheviks from coming to power.

As long as you don’t mind:
- no air conditioning
- no dentistry (toothaches hurt and teeth rot out by 35)
- No water toilets. You poop in a bucket and throw it out the window.
- No pizza, burgers, ethnic foods.
- No contact lenses or lasik surgery.

I’d go back to the year before Bitcoin started.

mid-17th century?
If it is the 17th century but before 1637 then I am going to buy a lot of tulips and tulip futures and sell them all before Feb 3rd 1637. If it is after Feb 3rd 1637 then I am not going to buy tulips.

Find my people.
Transport us to what will be later known as a "prime casino location area".
Kill off and pillage any tribes who give me any lip.
And plant a wealth of peyote.

I would be just become a writer. Write every story I could remember.
Twain, Shakespeare, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, I'd steal all their best shite. Then I would invent football & baseball.
