I've been watching a lot of the WW2 history videos...the ads are a pain in the rear end, but I ignore them.

just pay for youtube premium.

I take it this is separate from YouTube TV, which I have and am still inundates with ads on the feeds I watch. Drives me crazy at night when I steams something to fall asleep to.

See, this is where I wonder how YT Premium will play out. Creators start seeing less revenue from ads as more people go to a paid subscription so they increase the amount of ads driving more to subscriptions. Eventually, they’ll have no choice but to start putting ads in the subscription service.

I also watch Black Mirror.

Not available in the US. Is it available if you use a VPN?

100% available in the US as of... 6 or so months ago? I don't use a VPN. With that said, I remember it was a chore to get my wife signed up when I tried to do it through the app. I want to say I ended up having to back all the way out and use a link from a news article on my PC.

I obviously can't test the link because I already have it, but try the link here: LINK

ETA: if I click the link, I get a splash page with this at the top:

Enjoy fewer interruptions with Premium Lite
Watch most videos ad-free. Ads may appear on music content, Shorts, and when you search or browse.
You have Premium Lite

(And then a "manage" button)

Completely separate, to the point that they don't even offer a bundle, which is the dumbest shite ever.

It seems like they’re popping up every 3-4 minutes and they’re back to back 30 second ads that you can’t skip

We need a cultural revolution where we stop fricking watching videos or supporting this shite.. they do this because they know they can get away with it and people will still keep watching like the fricking mouth breathers we are.

We need to all get on the same page and start boycotting this late stage capitalist hot garbage where the quality of everything is dog shite that somehow costs more

On my TVs, yeah, its annoying. On my PCs, I just use an ad blocker. I also use a uBlock Origin script to hide Shorts from my main feed.

Yep. They always find a way to make ads more annoying that way they try to piss you off into buying their premium service. Now when you are able to skip the 2 video ads after waiting, they hit you with a floating popup ad of the same thing you just watched.

Anyone else have an issue with ads that are clearly AI generated scams?

I have targeted ads off so 90% of my ads are akin to what you’d find on a porn site. Clear as day scams

Another example where wall street is polar opposite to most of the actual users. Stock prices are not indicative a sound business if you rate the business on quality that the consumer experiences.

In addition to being click bait, the bias of the searches politically is doing real harm to the social fabric.

UBlock Origin with Microsoft Edge. Tried AdBlock but frequently still got ads so I switched.
