I have a mutt. I’ve been researching what she might be mixed between and when she was little, I thought she might be a Parson terrier mix. I did all this reading about how paterdales really really don’t do well in many circumstances.

Everything I read is “worst of all dog breeds dog for small homes or apartments, needs large wide open space and hours of work more so than other dog breeds.

I found this thread because I was looking up schnauzers on here. Think my dog is a schnauzer- lab mix and this topic comes up when you google tiger droppings schnauzers

Edit: frick me, I got paterdales and parsons confused

A well bred Dalmatian is generally an extremely well tempered dog. Especially great with children

They received a bad reputation when trashy breeders tried to cash in on the movie and muddied up the line. Poorly bred lines led to aggressiveness and that reputation still sticks around to this day.

If you get a Dalmatian from a reputable breeder with papers and are able to see its lineage (generally originating in Europe) you are getting an absolute stud of a dog. Not only an absolutely gorgeous looking dog but also a dog with a ton of personality

But my pit bull wouldn't hurt a fly. I let mine sleep next to my baby, people who say pit bulls are dangerous don't understand them..

FYI: I don't have a pit bull

I agree with the content, but citing statistics from 2011 in 2023 is just grossly wrong in practice
I don't think the pit bulls care what year it is.

Yea I am not understanding why citing those years is grossly wrong in practice.

Having owned multiple boxers, I'm surprised they're anywhere near this list.

From what my in laws have said, they have had ones which had a sixth sense for when someone is a danger. Them fricking someone up may mean the person deserved it.

Is this more of an indictment on the breed or the people who own pit bulls and how they raise them?

Both. Perfect synergy. Trashy people owning dogs that are bred to kill.

Labs or Goldens or miniature poodles are the only dogs a person could ever need

Let’s just all be thankful that the chihuahua doesn’t weigh 50+ lbs

About a minth or two ago month ago my wife was taking her little chihuahua/Maltese mix named Mille Belle on a walk. The neighbors lab, probably around 70-80 lbs was in its own yard minding its own business. All of a sudden, my wife’s dog lunges for it, my wife apparently didn’t have a good enough grip on the leash, and runs into this dog’s yard with murder on her mind. This poor lab sees my wife’s 11 lb. Dog coming coming at it just going nuts. Apparently this scared the dog so bad it took off running with my wife’s dog chasing after it and my wife chasing them both. It was a pathetic spectacle. Thankfully my wife is good friends with the wife that lives there. She saw what was happening and came out to help corral them both.

Look at these 3 sweet pitt bulls just trying to play with a little dog. They were playing so much they didn’t realize the game was over and wouldn’t let the little dog go. An officer shoots one twice point blank and it’s still alive LINK

That's horrific, I can't believe youtube hasn't taken it down. I don't recommend watching. Ruined my day.

It was probably a pitbull mix but someone wrote the wrong thing down on the paperwork and it got caught up in the data.
