We could give everyone a million dollars if the government weren't such assholes like Bloomberg.

That was supposed to say now out of work, my bad for not catching it. The fact is that the longer people frick around and not stay home the longer it’s going to be for those of us who are out of work. I wish people would stop being dicks about this and making it worse.

Do you really think normal social distancing would have prevented this? Something 4 times more contagious than the flu? There's no way. It'll spread and run its course. Sorry for the impact on you. I was kind of just messing with you in my previous posts.

Then you make over 75k a year. So you can either handle the time off, or you’re stupid about money and living outside your means.
Do you think 75K is a lot for people in NYC? San Francisco? Los Angeles? Miami? Austin? Washington DC?
If you make 75k you are barely scraping by in those areas. I live in the suburbs. I have a decent house. I have savings. I can make it about 10 months before my liquid savings would be depleted.
But here's the thing. If my business folds in that time, then I have no money and no business. And if I have no money, the restaurants, bars, stores that I patronize will have 1 fewer customer. Now multiply that by 100 million.

I don’t think it would have stopped it, it was already here. But I do think that we’ve reached a point where we either all buckle down and be proactive or be overrun by it, and all the bitching and the pushback against it is just making the end point further and further out, and the longer that takes the more damage we do economically to our country and ourselves.

What does that have to do with a stimulus payment of a thousand dollars? That’s not going to keep you in business. stay home, shop smart, conserve your resources and hope like hell that your neighbors do the same so that we’re not facing ten months of this.

The ones who Advocate everybody staying home are usually the ones who get a government paycheck. Unlike many of us who are self-employed, they get paid whether they work or not.

Nothing is really essential until you need it, and very little falls in that category over several months.

A family of 4 making 200,000 combined gets 0.
You know that right?

It's the ultimate Boomer act. Shut down the economy to save themselves.
Meanwhile their house is paid off, they left the stock market a couple of years ago, they don't have any kids to support, and half the MFers still won't leave the work force to make way for the younger generation which will never be as wealthy as the Boomers have been.
