A cop told me that Thanksgiving night/next morning are busy times for them. A lot of old grudges rise up after everyone gets tanked.

I seem to remember someone coming into either a Thanksgiving or Christmas thread and confessed to thinking one of their cousins who was visiting might be into him and was considering making a move. shite got strange and I’m not sure if that guy returned.

I enjoyed the one where someone's pet pot bellied pig got killed by a pet dog. Pork was on the menu.

I must've missed this thread last year.

Fiance and I hosted last year as her mom from Canada came down to visit. This was also the first time my mom and family would meet her.

My MIL proceeds to invite her entire extended family which turns at most a 7 person dinner into 20 people. Fiance and still cook most of the dishes but have to supplement through Honeybaked to ensure we have enough for everyone. No one contributes.

The meals go off fine nothing burns and people start to leave. Yay. Here's where shite hits the fan

There's a family of 3 that are here. My fiance cousin ( the wife). Former athlete that's only able to work at MLMs for some reason. The husband (I'll just call him BS). Real holier than thou Clemson fan. The 6yo son ( LS) that consistently getting suspended for biting kids at school. The wife's parents also came too.

We had to let the cats out to eat once things calmed down, and LS chases them through the house. I started to let the bigger cat claw his arse but didnt want to hear the "How could let that happen to my son?" spiel and sent him outside to the playground next door.

BS proceeds to make 7 to go containers for his parents ( who couldn't come) and the wife makes plates for her parents, BS, and LS. Between the two of them they take at least 10 plates home. This isnt counting all the plates that went by the other guests ( no more than one each).

After everyone left we started cleaning up and taking notice of what was left. Which was

1 corner of dressing
1 corner of macaroni
No yams
A bowl of collards (mostly broth)
10 pieces of ham
12 pieces of turkey

I started to tell my fiancee we couldn't eat all the food anyway but once I saw there was no yams left I'm hot as that's my favorite dish and I made them.
My fiancee is more pissed calls the wife up tells her straight up do not come to our house for Thanksgiving ever again in a voice that scares me and the cats run and hide under furniture.

We had plans this year to basically double want we did last year since we had no leftovers. But it turns out my mom's stove is in heaven so we'll be hosting again (cooking tonight). LS, BS and that family aren't coming and apparently eating at Lizards Thicket Thursday. So we can avoid them.

Hopefully we have a smoother day this year.

You should've dropped that MF'er right then and there to assert your dominance. He would have brought extra yams this year for you.

That's kind of boring. If you are going to type out that much crap, make it more interesting. Tell some lies or something.

It’s been many years since we’ve had any family drama for the holidays.
The only excitement I have to share is that when my mom was about ti leave last year after Thanksgiving I went to give her a hug and told her that her perfume smelled nice.

For some reason her old arse let out a fart, then she started laughing and farted four more times. My kids and I were bent over laughing and my wife had to leave the room to keep from laughing at her.

Should be an interesting one this year. Don't know yet if my brother is coming yet. BIL and girlfriend are fighting and are coming the day after. And on Saturday we are spreading my FIL ashes, and that is turning into a show. My wife, (no pics) was not close to him, but we are paying respects. But the girlfriend of FIL has taken a spread ashes with just us to a whole ceremony with all the trimmings and left my wife and her brother out of it. So this should be interesting.

I am predicting some issues…
Wife and I have her sisters family (SIL, BIL, 3 girls) live with us for the last few years. Holidays are a huge thing for the wife…anyway Wife, SIL and kids drove to AZ to visit their dad and won’t be back until late Wednesday…me and the BIL have been tasked with the shopping and most of the food…we have followed all instructions to the letter but I am sure nothing will be good enough or “right”.
I don’t give a shite…if you don’t like how it’s done, get back in town and do it yourself.
I’ll keep the OT posted.

Hide the real food and set out some dominoes pizzas boxes when they get home.

Enjoy their reaction for a while.

Wife and I have booked a Thanksgiving on the River dinner cruise.

No cooking. No drama. Eat a good meal while cruising up the river. Well worth the money.
