This guy knows.
I myself played competitively on that level for years. Was in of the few fortunate enough to say I was apart of a winning team in the world tournament in Florida.
It’s a mega thing to be honest and the money involved in every aspect from entry fees, payouts, sponsorships is unbelievable. I loved it but once we won worlds, I started swinging clubs.

I played from the time I was 18 until I was about 30ish when I had kids.

Adult softball. I’ve played in Houston, Dallas, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Carencro, Baton Rouge, Thibodaux, New Orleans, Houma, and Jackson, MS. If you knew where to look, you could find a softball tournament every weekend.

It was my hobby for the longest time. We spent our own money. Drank a lot of beer. Went to a lot of clubs/bars out of town rather than the regular every weekend bars around here.

We weren’t very good and we didn’t play at a very high level, but the friendships and awesome times we had can’t be replaced. Had a blast.

Been a thing forever, maked more sense than kids travel ball, they’re playing for the love of the game, not some dream of getting a half scholarship to community college.

A guy who use to work for me would save all his time off for travel ball. He was obsessed with it.

There is/was? an adult baseball league in BR, too. I played in it for 25 years, until age 61 in 2018, when health problems forced me to retire. They used to have a 30+ division. I think it's all 18+ now; it was when I retired.

There are 2 big national organizations, National Adult Baseball Association and Men's Senior Baseball League. Tournaments nation-wide all year long, nationals in October in Phoenix and Tampa areas. I played in many nationals in Phoenix and Memorial Day tournaments in Las Vegas many times. Sometimes with a Baton Rouge team, sometimes with a team from Sacramento.

The Lovely & Talented Mrs. Lammo, and sometimes one or more of our kids, would usually accompany me. The kids were old enough to do Vegas on their own, but sometimes went to the games. We always ate good and had a blast, sight-seeing between games.

I miss adult baseball greatly.

I haven’t found a hobby that I’ve enjoyed enough to replace since I stopped playing as well. Same boat. Miss it greatly. Such good times.

I miss baseball more than anything in my life, and I’d love to play again, but I was a pitcher and my mid 30s doesn’t seem like the best time to wreck my shoulder/elbow.
