My wife just told me this is a thing.

Apparently, a girl we know- her baby daddy plays grown up travel ball.

Please tell me this is not true?!?!?!

Yes, adult men’s softball. They travel all over the country to play. Usually guys that played JUCO baseball but haven’t stopped taking steroids.

She’s actually on a billboard, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to see.

So some adults travel weekends to play softball, stay healthy & enjoy friends & you have an issue with it?

Back when I played a lot of BREC softball, some of those teams would travel for tournaments on the weekends.

That was a bit much for me.

my hometown's big event is a big mens slow-pitch tournament (yes, very trashy) and teams come from 10+ hours away, but most are local

There’s an adult male baseball league in the nola metro area. Real baseball, it’s a 40 year old and up league. There’s some guys in their 60’s and 70’s and the pitchers are throwing 70mph.

Fletcher Mackel plays on a team, ive been asked every year but nah I’m out.

This ain’t softball, this is real baseball

You def do it lol

I don’t see an issue. They having with their friends and doing something they love. It’s just softball. Got friends that did it. I do think if you have wife/kids it’s a little redic to be traveling putting that much time into it etc.

The league website promotes ’18-over’ but there is a largely diverse age within the ranks. “We have players from 18 to 73 years old,” Brossette explained. “Richard Miller is our oldest player. We call him ‘Papa Smurf’. He is a great guy to be around and we all love him.”
