Actually you can do whatever you like even if it is against the law. Consequences for any and every decision you make in life but you still get to make that decision.

You played D class? How long ago? I played with Bad Company, Smith Optics and a few other pretty good teams that played in all the parks you’re talking about and many more across the gulf south.

This has been a thing for MANY years. Even back in the 80's (far back as I remember) there were "professional" teams that would travel the country playing or actually putting on exhibitions. They were sponsored by some big name sports equipment companies.
I remember going to see a team play once at a local facility. In one game, they hit something like 28 home runs. They were playing on a full size field, not some girls softball sized or rec ball sized field.

I was over 20 years old in 1980 and played in two softball leagues at different parks in NOLA. I played against guys in their 40's back then. You might look up the FIRST game ever broadcast by ESPN.

I don't have an issue with it but let's not pretend that a lot of these guys aren't leaving the game and getting absolutely trashed and eating shite.
I don't care, but I know a few people that run in these circles, and the beer, crawfish, and boudin they consume can't be worked off during a weekend of slow pitch.
Unless we are talking about two different things, which is entirely possible.

It's anecdotal, but I've collected some seismological data that makes me think it would be hard to get fat off of boiled crawfish.

That's cool. Again, I don't give a shite. But JML made the claim that they were staying healthy on the weekends, and that may be true for some, but for many of them it has nothing to do with health.

IDK about boudin, but I've grown to believe beer is pretty toxic. Wouldn't recommend drinking more than 1 or 2 per day.
