I remember going to watch my grandad play and seeing all the players crushing beers. Looked like fun to me.

The league website promotes ’18-over’ but there is a largely diverse age within the ranks. “We have players from 18 to 73 years old,” Brossette explained. “Richard Miller is our oldest player. We call him ‘Papa Smurf’. He is a great guy to be around and we all love him.”

The gripe with childrens travel ball isnt the travel it's the doucheyness of the parents and the damage that is being caused to young kids specializing in one sport and over doing it.
Used to play men's softball. It was a fun weekend of drinking and hanging with friends.

You def do it lol
I wish I did
I am so out of shape & am the only single person out of all my friends so weekends are boring & lonely for me
I think it would be fun to go stay an hour or 2 away & play in a weekend tournament
We need more things like this to keep people active & healthy

Oh friend. It doesn’t stop there. Some actually get rings for winning tournaments.
Grown arse men.
My father in law does it and it embarrasses the shite out of my wife.

Played a couple of seasons of rec ball about ten years ago and enjoyed it.
But my team broke up, and the market for 59-year-old free agents is pretty slow.

It’s true. Jaden’s dad found out the hard way last night. So did his mom.

Seems fine to me if the dudes like playing baseball and want to go out and play with other competitive guys that like baseball. I find this a lot less weird than families having to travel for kids to play it.
