Cops have Highland shut down before you hit Pecue. Every road leading to Highland/I10 area is solid red on Waze. WTF

It’s BR. If you choose to live there, you choose traffic.

There was a really bad accident last night at Bluebonnet/Burbank. Overturned SUV. Saw them loading a dude into an ambulance on a backboard.

Round about would be perfect there, especially as there will be an uptick of traffic when interstate exchange gets opened. Such an awkward intersection.

They’re gonna have to put a light. Really dangerous intersection there especially with that new neighborhood.

he East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said a truck was driving on Highland Road near the Pecue Lane intersection when a car pulled out in front of it. Deputies said a crash was unavoidable.

The driver of the car, 24-year-old Valencia Jones, died on scene from her injuries. Her small child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The truck driver was not suspected of impairment.

I hope that kid was wearing a seatbelt, and that is awful that it will now be motherless.

I always wonder why there aren't more bad wrecks on Highland...some of those roads that feed into it, you can't see very far in either direction. You aren't exactly pulling out completely blind, but it's close. Especially the one close to Pecue.. Highland Oaks maybe? That one is almost completely blind looking toward I-10.

A roundabout needs to get put in ASAP at Highland and Pecue. I know there is one planned for that intersection, but it needs to happen now.

I get that people have different lives and how they go about their day to day, but I don't understand why someone would be out at 2am on a Tuesday night driving with their small kid in the car. I just don't understand the circumstance that leads you to have your kid with you that late at night.

Traffic fatality at Pecue Lane. Terrible intersection. Surprised this doesn't happen more often.

Yea a roundabout is perfect right here but according to that link it’s easily 3-4 years away. Hopefully that gets bumped up or they can coordinate with the state to get that done faster. Wrecks are being common right here.

In the meantime, maybe a 4 way stop could help. Similar to what was done on Bluff/C Braud.
