If you're going to rent an EV for a road trip, it has to be a Tesla.
- 300 - 400 miles of range depending on your model
- 250 KwH supercharging stations every 75-125 miles that will sufficiently charge your car in 15-25 minutes.
On a 500 mile trip, you're probably only adding on an additional 20 - 40 minutes in a Tesla

My company will start transitioning to EV trucks for our fleet for the Dallas metro area. It makes a lot of sense to do it there in a place where they are not driving a lot of miles. Unless the technology advances we will never see it in CENLA. We are too far spread out for this to be feasible.

EVs are great for city dwellers.
If they have a spot in a garage and a dedicated charger that they can use at night.
I think it’s best for suburban home owners, as long as they don’t drive very far.

The total charging costs of $175 is still approximately half of what you’d pay in gasoline
And riding a bicycle would even save you that $175.

However, time is certainly valuable
This is what is called the big picture analysis.

Good thing she wasn't in the head on giving head accident, would not have been good for the pecker.

She may also have to sit and wait for the electric toothbrush to charge halfway through.

This type of trip is not something a city dweller would do in the real world.

Family solution is still obviously 1 EV & 1 ICE.
I’d imagine 90% of people’s driving occurs within 100 miles of one’s home, so it really seems like less of a huge deal than this board makes it out to be.

I have an order in for 400 of them. It’s going to be a good thing for us and maybe people can stop wasting time at gas stations and blowing 100k a week in fuel because they all refuse to turn their trucks off.

I’d give her some meat, but damn those are some choppers

I agree. We want one EV and one normal Vehicle. Just seems to make the most sense to us

For in town use, they wouldn’t be so bad because you could charge at your house.
But for vacations, frick that. I don’t want to spend that long charging a car. That’s BS

Reading the article a lot of their issues seemed to come from poor planning and potentially getting screwed on their Turo rental w/a model that has a 250 mile range instead of the advertised 310.
Pretty shitty design by Kia (and any other car company TBH) to put out a vehicle that doesn't clearly tell you both on the outside of the car and inside the gauge cluster what your top range is b/c it's not like a regular car where you can just pop the hood to quickly see what engine you have.

I mean I live in a city (I guess basically) and I enjoy a nice long road trip 2-3 times a year.
